7. I'd say it's about power more than money, not because those two things aren't related...

...but that a desire to maintain and increase power is the most shared characteristic. Individuals Republicans have more differences among them about what they want to accomplish with that power, and how important money is to them.

I think most Republicans are simply in politics for themselves, and don't have higher principles apart from personal gain. They are Republicans because they see the Republican base as the easiest rubes to manipulate to get what they want .

Don't forget, however, that some Republicans are True Believers in their pursuit of power, justifying to themselves that all manner of deceit, all turning a blind eye to Trumpian corruption, is an excusable means to the end of preventing (gasp!) Democratic control of government. Some elected Republicans are just as crazy and/or bigoted as their followers. Some are Dominionists who want to turn the US into a Christian theocracy. Some are just as afraid of TEH SOCHCULISM!!11!! and of being "replaced" as the typical Tucker Carlson fan.
