at a stop sign. I had spotted his "Trump 2024" sticker and his large "Let's Go Brandon!" transfer on his rear cab window as I pulled in next to him.
I post this to report that I thought he might chew his steering wheel off when he saw the big hand-lettered "Trump belongs in Prison!" sign in my rear window and the big smile on my face. The cockles of my heart are still warm.
Can I get an Amen!"

(9,246 posts)That is also where I live and up to a couple of years ago I had no fear of having Dem stickers on my car. That has changed. I removed them and won't even put a sign in my yard now. I'm just a little old lady, though. And no fool.

I have a bumper sticker (I made it myself) that says:
"Liberal
Gun Owner
Excellent Shot
Not Intimidated"
Maybe you should move.

(931 posts)when I drove it into the parking lot at my new job years ago. After a day or two, some coworkers realized it was the new employees car. Several came up to warn me confidentially that I should take it down if I wanted to be well thought of by upper management at this company. Several months later at the annual all-employee meeting, it kicked off with a drum and bugle corps performance and then everyone reciting the Lords Prayer. I kid you not. Private company with 1500 employees.

(7,794 posts)My closing employment shtick was owned by what I called "prayer Nazis". You'd get your lunch payed for but were expected to observe a moment of silent inactivity while the owner or his wife would "say grace". Funniest thing was to watch the company office manager, an avowed atheist "conservative", bow head and look/act serious while the charade played on.
Retirement is better. Never any pressure to conform at the odd lunch but replaced by a sincere attitude of gratitude to be off that meat wagon.

(13,072 posts)I will not fear them. Sick of their shit, most are as coward as can be. They Just feel empowered by the KKKlan they belong to. I am not saying to instigate, I will never cower to their shit. I learned pretty well not to fear in the military. If you did, you could die. Not for everyone I know, if you give them the power they will take it. Never a snow flake, or stupid. Just willing to fight for MY freedom, as before. With Veterans Day approaching, I am certain a huge number of my brothers and sisters are just as sick of their threats as me. So many lives lost in wars for anything but our freedom or our democracy. Now, we know exactly what the fight is for, right here, right now. Laughing at them is perfect. I wish Dems would burst into laughter everyone Bang Bang Barbie, Gym Jordon and Marginal Trailer Queen start ranting. If we cower in the corner afraid of them, they will destroy us. That is not living. I would rather fight for that to never happen. Just me.

(13,003 posts)and we have not put a political bumper sticker on either one since 2015. I have had several friends with nice new cars who came out to see their Dem stickers completely "keyed" out with a key or other metal device. They were on the trunk and not on the bumper, so they had to pay to have the area repainted.
It showed us a major difference between the two parties voters. One is aggressive and violent, the other prefers words to fists.
I didn't put up a Biden, Hillary, or any Dem yard sign these past elections, however, I did get a hold of a Trump yard sign and put it in the garage. If all hell breaks loose, I will put it up in the front yard! LOL Survival of the Smartest.......

(8,289 posts)I'd prefer to do that at the ballot box. We live in a very blue area but I still wouldn't have bumper stickers or yard signs. Just no need to.
By the way, if someone comes to the house to do work and has a TFG sticker, it's the only time I'll have them at the house. No time for that.

(13,582 posts)Interestingly here in north Idaho I have seen a decidedly significant reduction of coal rollers, Trump flag flyers, and other pro-fascist 4x4ers. Even the number of fringe properties flying Trump and confederate flags in the last couple of months has gone way down.
It could be the abysmal rate of vaccinations which has lead to hospitals choked with covid patients is finally sending many of Trumps most devout to their early graves. At least its a comforting thought.

(13,086 posts)Everyone in my neighbourhood hates me, back in 2008 I had an Obama sign in front of my house.
Someone ripped it up in over 100 pieces.
I sat on the ground taping it back together. Everyone was looking out their windows at me.
Then they burned it.

(2,646 posts)was because before the election they hadn't seen hardly any Biden/Harris yard signs or bumper stickers. They took that as indication of lack of support for Biden and Harris, when it was actually an indication of fear of vandalism.
Because of them, we have to be careful. We've become the "Silent Majority." Well, not quite silent. Just smart enough to predict likely consequences of giving these lawless idiots a target.

That's why I don't wear political pins or t-shirts, and I don't put political stickers on my car. It's the tedious and waste-of-time arguments from the other side. (They're never intelligent and they're rarely interesting.)
