Kellyanne Conway resurfaced on Fox News on Monday night to attack President Joe Bidens administration over inflation and the ongoing supply chain issues.
And the former adviser to Donald Trump made one of her wildest claims yet in the process.
Supply chain issues were one of the most dominant stories of 2020, when Trump was president and Conway was working in the White House as the start of the coronavirus pandemic triggered panic buying. That, in turn, caused nationwide shortages of everything from toilet paper to pasta, leading to empty shelves in supermarkets.

(32,086 posts)Not just toilet paper and pasta, but hand sanitizer, disinfectants and wipes, bleach, dishwasher soap, laundry soap... People started baking their own bread, because there was none on the store shelves. Which led to a shortage of baking yeast. Folks have already forgotten about that, and she knows it. Nothing to see there. Move along. Time to start refreshing people's memories.

I know! I'll go on Fox and lie about Biden and stroke Trump's ego.
Because that, too, is just so original. (but at least she'll have an audience)

Brazen disprovable lies that formerly could have ended political careers have not only been normalized -- they are required to sustain the mindset and belief system on the right.

(714 posts)I can completely believe that she never heard of such a thing.
I met a self-absorbed political hack who'd never heard of her own candidate's signature issue while at the party convention rallying support for him.
"Being a highly-placed paid employee of a politician" has nothing to do with that person's depth of (or lack of) knowledge. Or her native intelligence (or lack thereof).
