It had been about 7 months since my second Pfizer shot. Im not 65.
I just filled out an online form at the nearest pharmacy and got an appointment that afternoon. When I got to the pharmacy I asked if it was okay that Im not 65 and it didnt raise an eyebrow. I got the flu shot in the other arm at the same appointment.
I didnt notice any symptoms the first day and was even wondering if they gave me anything in the shot. Then a day later I got all over body aches, and sore arm, lasting about a day.
Anyway, just posting this because many people might be waiting for some announcement that they are eligible to get vaccinated with the booster. I say just go get it now if its been 6 months since your last one. It gave me some peace of mind if nothing else. And idk if that I got quite a bit of symptoms from the booster is an indication that the initial vaccination had worn off or what.

(16,296 posts)After 7 months in with the two primary shots. We looked forward and were anxious to get the shots and were glad to get them - really relieved. BUT, adverse reaction. Sore arm to be expected, no big deal. But both of us really tired, exhausted for almost a week with a mild fever on my part. Still, get those boosters.

(57,073 posts)I had 3rd Pfizer nearly 2 mos ago. No after effects at all. 1st 2 caused mildly sore arm at injection site.
Got pneumonia, flu, & tdap 2 wks after 3rd Pfizer. No reactions from those either.
I recall very vividly the pain of tetnus shot decades ago, but nothing this time (part of tdap).
I have to believe these shots are working. I'm not immunocompromised that I know of.
So glad you got the booster!

(5,455 posts)My husband and I got our Pfizers too at CVS.
We are both under 65- no questions asked.
When I offered our medical insurance the nurse said no need for it. We were out of there in 15 minutes.
Our arms were sore but, no other symptoms.
So glad we did because cases have gone up 17% here in SE Pa these past 2 weeks.
