I gotta say it wasn’t pleasant.

Plus I read they have no data on whether a booster would even help someone in my position. So they can’t say.

I guess I want to know if people who had covid plus double vax have received a booster and what their reactions were.

Covid (3/20) and 3 Pfizer
The first was the worst reaction, about 2 days, 2nd about 1 mild day, booster about 8 hours feeling grumpy, no more.
I’ll get another if rec’d in 6 months

Pfizer. Reaction to booster and 2nd were very similar. About 18 hours after the shot, about 6-8 hours of very low grade fever, aches in the "big" muscles, and general malaise. Nothing that I would have stayed home from work for during the before times but definitely would have said I felt like I was coming down with something.

Reaction to the first shot was actually the strongest, but not by much.

Second was worse overall. Third I felt barely feverish and barely tired. But my arm hurt worse for four days. Tylenol helped with the very minor fever

I had my booster today about 7 hours ago. I am not having the reaction I had to the second shot. My arm is sore, but no chills or fatigue like last time. Doc said it was half dose.

Europe. The UK's latest surge just isn't going away after many months, Germany is surging to record levels. Our vaccination rate is lower and we should anticipate that another huge surge is coning our way, just as the resistance to double vaccinations alone is weakening and too many people are exercising back-to-normal behavior.

ranging in age from early 20's to mid 70's. The breakthrough rate in those not boosted, previously infected or not, is ALARMING.

You have no idea whether your body mounted a meaningful immune response to your infection and chances are quite great any advantage it may have conferred is well good and gone.

The protection from your vaccine is waning.

There is no real downside. If you are 6 months past the administration of a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after a Janssen vaccine - go get your booster. The clock is ticking.

If someone had J&J and wants to get Moderna as a booster, do they receive a full dose or a half dose?

Thanks in advance.

I got a Moderna booster last Friday. The nurse that gave me the shot told me it was not a full dose. She also told me to be prepared to not feel well after the shot. I felt fine all day but overnight got big time body aches and fever. It was mostly resolved by morning but I still had significant fatigue for the two days after the boost. I don’t think I’ve ever had Covid19. I haven’t had any of the symptoms anyway.

I’m really glad I got the booster.

Just curious…or is a booster something one can just get with a wink and a nudge even if they are young and healthy? Asking for a friend.

but it will wane eventually.
In your case with a prior Covid infection, maybe make that decision with your doc after checking your antibody levels.

But I understand your concerns. My mother had very unpleasant experiences after her shots and isn't that motivated to get her booster yet.

strong immunity still, though I can't possibly answer that question for you. Only you and your doctor know your health circumstances, how vulnerable you are to covid, and whether it's worth it to you to boost your immunity.

I am going to boost next week, though I have never had covid and I have asthma, so I fit the comorbidity/danger zone. I am dreading it bc I'm busy and there aren't many days I can give up to feeling sick, but I'm also banking on the holidays being healthy and happy for my family, and this is part of that.

(My parents were boosted this week. My husband three weeks ago. My in-laws and myself next week. My daughter started her vaccines last week, so I'm feeling pretty positive that we will get through this winter without coming down with covid.)
