He could ask for a jury, but someone posted that the judge is a Trump appointee, so he may not want one.

The actual trial would be as quick as you think if all that was involved was whether he did it or not. The actual trial, however, will focus on whether Congress exceeded their authority in creating the panel in the first place and whether he had to appear given the privilege claim.

Neither seems likely to succeed, but both will take time and involve appeals. So it isn’t likely to be quick
