Chris Christie claims wife paid $29 for toilet paper.

Democratic strategist Donna Brazile clashed with former Republican Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday after he claimed that his wife pays $29 for toilet paper.

Christie made the claim during a panel discussion about President Joe Biden's agenda on ABC's This Week.

"Let me give you an example of what normal people really care about," Christie opined. "I mean, first, they go to the gas station and as much as the Biden administration is against fossil fuels, until further notice we're going to be using them ... So they go to the gas station and the prices are way too high."

"I will tell you something," he continued. "My wife just told me three days ago she walked into the supermarket and she picked up a big pack of toilet paper and she said to me, 'Do you know how much this cost me today? $29. $29!"

Takes an industrial-size roll to wipe off that much, and how can he tell when it's clean, anyway?

Prices are always higher at gas station convenience stores. She should have gone to Costco and bought the eternal pack, which lasts through most of a pandemic. Not sure what that costs these days, though.

thirty rolls of Charmin Ultra Soft costs $28.49 (plus tax, of course). You can, however, get 48 rolls of a brand I never heard of for $29.99.

Stay with the Charmin, you get what you pay for.

If she had gone into a Costco, yes, it probably would have been close to $30, albeit, likely for a 30 roll box.

However, I think the response to that is simple enough: if it costs $30 for a bag of toilet paper, then maybe it's time we raised the minimum wage to something more reasonable than $7.50 an hour. The Republicans refuse to do that.

There was a shortage of toilet paper in 2020 when Trump was president.

I haven't noticed one recently. I actually bought some at Walgreens Friday, and it was about the usual price. They always have some Charmin or Angel Soft on sale, like a pack of 12 for $9.

Maybe Mrs. Christie bought one of those industrial-sized packages, 64 rolls or something like that.

We actually still have toilet paper from Spring 2020 panic buying/miscommunication.

I think we're down to 45 rolls now last I checked.

When you only use one or two a week, it takes ages.

But, yeah, $29 isn't some crazy number for a 30 roll.
