Never did they characterize any republican candidates in 2016 as shrill or angry all the time
The press has a problem with strong females in leadership roles, and in my view they are showing their sexist colors
However, lets assume the story is accurate, then their are people in the WH actively sabotaging this administration by spewing this crap to the media, and if true, whoever is doing that needs to be given their walking papers. We need team players, who work and help each other, not back stabbed
Also, in any presidency the VP doesnt have a large presence to the public, so WTF is CNN trying to say?

(29,078 posts)But I don't think media was the worst.
We'd been assured for years by "progressives" that they would totally vote for her, but when she actually ran for president it was immediately negative: she was shrill, know-it-all, school marm, said she was capitalist to her bones and that evidently erased her progressive record and made her "establishment," Pocahontas, etc. Overnight. I think she was probably surprised. Also surprised to be accused of being a liar on TV.

(793 posts)They as much as admitted it when Trump got elected. I was never a regular watcher of CNN and I certainly don't watch it now. It isn't journalism/news as much as it is sucking a$$ for monetary return. It's sickening. Americans paid dearly in lives lost with Trump as president. CNN's priority is their bottom line, Americans be damned.

(8,613 posts)I use the CNN site as a check point on certain specific issues. I have often found some of their headlines doubtful as to the issue they were slapped on. They very much offer half the truth when it suits them.
They are Click-Bait central at times like this one. Rather like the recent dogpile MSM coverage of Afghanistan, or the border. They seem way too comfortable with false equivalence, and in this case they are going the extra mile to bash a prominent female Democrat, now a target because (Female, VP, Democrat in power) are all categories they are used to spinning for headlines, attitude, and feeding the RW beast some more meat.
Then again it just might be part of the GOP blowback threatened in response to Bannon's indictment.
GOP lawmakers say Democrats, by pursuing contempt charges against a Trump ally, are paving the way for them to go after Biden aides if they retake the House in 2022.
*********************************
Many GOP leaders, however, are seizing on Bannons indictment to contend that Democrats are weaponizing the Justice Department, warning Democrats that they will go after Bidens aides for unspecified reasons if they take back the House majority in next years midterm elections, as most political analysts expect.
For years, Democrats baselessly accused President Trump of weaponizing the DOJ. In reality, it is the Left that has been weaponizing the DOJ the ENTIRE TIME from the false Russia Hoax to the Soviet-style prosecution of political opponents, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), the third-ranking House Republican, tweeted Saturday.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) suggested that Republicans would seek payback if the GOP regained control of the House, signaling that in challenging the doctrine of executive privilege, Democrats were making it easier for Republicans to force Bidens top advisers to testify before a future GOP Congress.

(6,499 posts)There was a lot of it about when she was in California and there was a bunch that came up during the campaign as well.
It's still just beltway bullshit, but it's based in a history of this going on in how her offices have been managed.

I've stopped watching CNN - and I was a daily viewer - unless something is actually going on. They have become a huge disappointment. MSNBC, with a few exceptions, is pretty much the same.
