Or am I in trouble?
Every day I get the same phone call. My phone identifies it as a possible scam, so I never answer it. They always then leave a message. They say there is a complaint against me and I need to call them back to rectify it.
They never identify themselves or tell me the nature of the complaint. I never respond. This has been going on for months.

(4,188 posts)usually by registered mail or by a process server at your door. Phone contacts are 100% scam, with the possible exception of debt collection, but those are also ultimately handled via documents. No worries; keep ignoring it.

........I think on this one, they want ..."Personal Information"
......It works on a certain number of people....a few...that is enough ...

(11,913 posts)if it weren't for those kinds of helpful calls, I might never have found out there is something wrong with my social security number, I've won the Lithuanian lottery, the IRS is after me and won't give up, and my unwarrantied car is about to fall apart.

(7,671 posts)Actually, I still get them once in a while so I just ignore them. Sometimes they are for someone named "Tanya" who I don't know and had never heard of. If I ever meet her I won't loan her any money.

Just block the number

I'm skeptical.

(1,580 posts)Luckily I get one final chance to save it about once month for the last 6 years if I just call that number - which changes every time so I can't even block it.

(7,781 posts)I answer my phone about twice a month, the other whatever dozens are blocked or ignored.
So out of 100 typical contacts in a month, 2 are legit. (family)

(77,274 posts)No organization of any authority calls and leaves threatening, nonspecific messages.
You'd be notified by mail or a summons delivery.
As others said, continue to ignore it.
They're programming will quit calling after a while. Those programs are designed to know when they're merely leaving a voicemail. If people never respond, they'll quit calling.
