My Veteran housemate was so worried she was cleaning the guns and rifles.

She didn't say anything but cursed under her breath.

I knew what she was thinking.

She was getting ready for war.

She was in war zones during her 20 years active duty and reserve time, 30 years in all.

She is a retired RN.

We came really close.

2. Turned on the news to watch while I had lunch and saw the attack.

Immediately called my daughter and told her to turn it on right now. It scared her.

a friend cut up wood in the yard. I had DU open and checked in once in a while. I figured something like that would happen and it did. My friend didn't believe me when I told him what was going on. Called when he saw it on the news and said he couldn't believe that happened.

I was pretty pissed off.

something was going to go down & I just didn't want to be in traffic with magaflaggers if they decided to demonstrate locally.
I'm nowhere near DC but we have them here. Just the other day I saw one with a F Biden flag. Can you imagine being that far from reality.

My son (their uncle) called and told me there’s shooting at the Capital. Turned on MSNBC and kept checking DU.

And fuming at the stupidity, pettiness, provincialism, squalor, vindictiveness, blockheadedness, and utter uselessness of Trump and his Trumpanzees.

They smeared shit on the walls of the Capitol building.

I'm still trying to figure out how they thought that was 'patriotic'...

12. I was up sightseeing in Plymouth, MA.

Everything locked down, but I still enjoyed walking around the Mayflower, the Rock, etc.

Came back to the hotel, turned on the tv, and was like…holy crap!

13. trying to work from home, running to the TV, monitoring DU

trying to get my Trump-voting 84 year old father to pay attention to what his candidate was doing. he told me it wasn't anything worse than what my "Antifa friends" had done during the BLM protests.

14. I looked back on my calendar

Which I also post chores. I put Christmas decorations away a bit late this year. I think tv was on in background. Its a lot of work carefully wrapping up ornaments, I have a lot of fragile ones.

15. Here on DU while sitting in my car at hospital parking lot

While my wife was in the hospital undergoing an outpatient procedure.

I wasn't worried.

16. It was my 2 year anniversary.

My wife and I were getting busy.

17. The worst of it started while I was home for lunch.

I spent most of the rest of the afternoon calling the office saying I would be in when I could.
