Bannon's arrest & quick release is a perfect example of why Democrats are expected to lose their majorities in the House & Senate in the 2022 elections. Today's politics require a party to tout their accomplishments with a United front with one voice while using a megaphone to blanket America with their accomplishments including even embellishing their deeds. Republicans do this with great effect, thanks to Fox News. Democrats are an abject failure at this. It also requires a party to demonize the other party's shortcomings, including making mountains out of moehills and even making shit up. Democrats can't do this because like everyone has said a thousand times .... Democrats don't have a backbone !! They can't even prosecute the guilty with publicity deserving of their crimes. Bannon should have been arrested at his home and dragged out in handcuffs on a Friday night with the media invited to witness and broadcast the event. Next, a gag order should have been stapled to his forhead at the hearing on Monday !! Can you imagine the lengths the Republicans would have gone to to milk the prosecution had the roles been reversed !! Heck, the Republicans showcased their abilities several times during the Trump Administration.
Democrats will vote Democratic and Republicans will vote Republican. Everyone can argue their politics, logic and reasoning till the vows come home but it's the 10% of Gullible Americans that need pandering to vote for their party. You can demonize this 10% but I got news for you. This 10% of idiotic, ill informed and gullible Americans is the deciding factor that determines which party controls the government.
Today's politics isn't about who's right or wrong. Yes it's still very important & relevant but the most important factor is "PERCEPTION" for the gullible 10% !!
Sad but true.

(7,412 posts)Look at party affiliation over the years. Independents are quite high historically right now making up that mushy middle, people dont want to be associated with either political party, who are tied at 26% each.
When President Obama won in 2008, 39% of people identified as Democrats, that is now down to 26%. Meanwhile Republicans have bounced around 25-30% the last 15 years or so.
