Republicans latest M.O.

Block and oppose Democratic bills and say that the democrats are acting alone and the bill is socialism. When the bill finally passes, they put out statements insinuating that they are responsible for bringing in money to their state/district, money that is related to the bill. When they get called out for it they say that they supported that part of the bill and had a hand in making sure that it was part of it, but voted no because they didn’t support the rest of it….they did it with this year’s Covid bill and now the infrastructure bill.

They were so drunk on opposition they failed to understand the ultimate popularity of the affordable care act. Stupid drunks. They had to rewrite their position in real time. Lucky for them there were her emails.

They cannot point to anything when they are in charge because they know fuck-all about legislating. They figure their rubes will not know the difference, and unfortunately, they are frequently right.

Seems to me the only thing they know how to do is cut taxes for the rich. Other than that, they do nothing. They count on the Democrats to do the hard work and get things Americans want/need passed without republicans help for the most part.

gut labor with other bullshit laws, and arm right-wing nutjobs with AR-15s, require women to bear babies, and miscellaneous and sundry other nefarious things through still other bullshit laws and court appointees.

Funny that is exactly what happened. I called the Representative's DC office earlier this morning and I said that this Rep needs to be ashamed of himself for touting everything his state is going to be getting when he opposed the bill. The guy that I was talking to responded by saying word for word what the OP says about Repubs MO.....word for word!

They are really really good at messaging and framing everything to their advantage….so now when he gets called out, he and his supporters (with help from the media) will say the overall bill he opposed was horrible, but this one part was good…and if it was a clean bill with only that part then he would have voted in favor of it…ironically, every Republican will do this with some part of the bill, which in the end if you add it all up would be the whole bill, lol

They vote no, then take the dough. It's a great gimmick, as they get all of the benefit of the legislation and can still rail against taxes and gummint programs and the like. They just need to have a compliant media that doesn't point out their screaming hypocrisy, and the media come through for them, often as not.

You know what else won't be noticed? That the infrastructure spending and improvements will go to all of the states, not just the ones that voted for Biden or kowtow to him. Unlike his immediate predecessor, who used all the apparatus of government as cudgels to punish his rivals, real and perceived.
