Don't take a rocket scientist to see that. Pretty open and shut case, this, but obvs. I'd like it to play out properly, to give these racist fucktwits their due process.

They identified and then stalked their prey as sport. Cut Ahmaud off and blocked him, then approached Ahmaud with weapons drawn, ready and pointed. Replace the victim's name with that of a game animal, and it becomes a hunting story.

For what it's worth, a felony murder, under Georgia law, is a killing committed during the commission of an felony; an intent to kill is not a required element of felony murder.

They hunted him, and he had a right to defend himself. The shooter shot him twice with a shotgun, one shot is devastating, a second is well the coup de grâce.

When Arbery was lying on the ground dying, McMichael is said to have finished his hunt by uttering "fu**ing ni**er" will standing over Arbery's body. Reminds me of my grandad saying "good shoot" after he'd kill an animal on hunting trips.

Arbery killing was a clear case of several heavily armed men in two PUs, chasing down an innocent, unarmed black man, who was simply trying to get away from his attackers. Still, this vile, vicious, redneck POS continues to claim he was acting in self defense. It's absolutely mind-boggling.

once he started fighting back, well, he's black, so he's a superpredator, and they were scared, and they had a right to self defense.

I mean, what are you supposed to be able to actually do to someone? Hold him at gunpoint for the cops? Cuff him? Put him in your truck and haul him in?

Note that Daddy didn’t bring his cellphone so calling the cops wasn’t on his to-do list. WTF did they intend to do? The only thing they brought were things to kill him with.

I don't support the death penalty, but since Georgia has it, there's no reason for these guys not to be on the list. Certainly life, no parole.

Remember, we are one or two elections away from the rule of law getting dumped into the trash here in the USA. After the coup of 2024, our "leaders" are going to be getting away with a lot worse than what these animals did down in Georgia. Sure these men need to be brought to justice, but in reality this charade trial is trivial compared to the crimes that will be committed against all of us once Trump or his successor have their boot on our necks. One day we will look back fondly at a time when the Arbery trial was the worst thing we had to worry about.

We must also put a check on the fascist police and push back. Film big brother. 74 days until arrests were made in this murder!!!
There are to many fascist police.

35. 2020 was a trial run
Fri Nov 19, 2021, 09:04 AM
Nov 2021

As a first trial run, 2020 from the point of view of the Fascist Right was a wild and overwhelming success; even with a half-baked plan they came damned close to installing Trump as a fascist leader. Now, they have a clear blueprint to how it can be executed in future elections, as soon as 2024 if the Congress is controlled by Republicans. Trump is working hard in every state to corrupt the electoral system, as well as having the Legislature in his grip.

As far as voting it's not the people on this forum or Registered Democrats that will tell the tale. Half the voting age public did not bother to vote in 2016 and about 1/3 stayed away in 2020. The future of America hinges on them more than anyone else. Democracy cannot survive the apathy of the citizens.

However it is up to Democrats to sell our message. We need to pound without mercy the message of how close the repukes came to destroying our country.
I do not believe a second helping at the fascists table would be easy. Our great military did NOT support trump and that folks is the big prize. Without military support a coup fails. Our government closed ranks, the checks and balances worked.
That said trump spent four years pissing off our great military.
