Absolutely painless, not even sore at the injection site so far. I don't expect any problems because I had no problems with the first two shots either.
Not bragging or anything, but we need to hear from anyone getting the booster shot how it went for them, good or bad. The more people who tell us their story, the more informed we ill all be. For instance from the comments I have read here, I know I could still have a reaction in the coming day or so, so I am planning my activities accordingly.

(8,678 posts)It was fine most of the day then towards the evening I got a slight fever and felt overall crappy. Also very sore arm. The next day I was much better. I think maybe good to have some reaction.. it means it working!

(9,444 posts)Right off my arm was sore, it wasn't at all the first time. About 11:00 pm I started with a fever and some chills and a headache. I didn't sleep well, went out to watch part of the lunar eclipse. Today I still have a fever, some chills, sore arm and headache. If it just keeps getting better from this point on I will be happy because so far it's not been all that bad. I just hope it doesn't take a turn for the worse.

(9,265 posts)Had basically no reaction to the J & J, perhaps a mild headache. After the Moderna, I had chills and aches for a day. Not horrible but Im glad it was a Saturday and I could stay home piled under blankets. By the next day I was fine.

(50,269 posts)I didn't have any reaction beyond a sore arm for a day with the other 2 shots, so I'm looking forward to it.

All in all, still very much worth it!

(15,084 posts)Slightly sore arm. Nothing else. Yet.
My second shot in April made me feel punky for a day or so. Hoping this one doesn't.

(24,284 posts)When they asked if I was there for my booster shot, I said no, I want Ivermectin. Much laughter from the nurses.

(3,469 posts)My shoulder was pretty sore for a few days and I felt a bit out of it Saturday afternoon, but other than that, no side effects....no fever, body aches, etc.

(63,221 posts)healthy. It doesn't mean anything negative. It is only your body's defenses coming to the rescue. You don't actually get sick, but you may feel ill because your body will go on the attack against a perceived invader. I started to feel sick about 10 hours after my shot, however I also got the flu shot at the same time.
Even if you do start to feel unwell, you will bounce back in a day or two. Glad you are all caught up!

(29,655 posts)and I feel so silly, cant remember which shot made my arm sore ..

(63,221 posts)My arm gets a tiny bit sore, but nothing worth mentioning. I never got sick after the shingrex shots either, and most people did. I seem to have almost opposite reactions to other people.

(29,655 posts)I did great the first day and night, the 2nd, 3rd, and even a tad on the 4th day were very, very sore. So good luck.

(525 posts)My first two shots were Pfizer. They gave me a choice so I Decided to mix and match.
Thus far after about four hours my experience is identical. No pain, no other symptoms. I took one preventive Tylenol, that's it. I'm also planning a low activity weekend, just in case.
Hope it stays this way!

(19,808 posts)He was in bed for 2 days.
Same as with moderna one and 2.
Maybe he has a sensitivity to it.
He was sick and sweating.
Hes good now almost weeks later.

(65,011 posts)Flushed feeling, a bit achy in the upper back.
Last only around 4 hours.
I had a far stronger response to the 2nd Moderna, even though I had zero response on the 1st.

(16,950 posts)so far. 🤷?♀️ Ive been horribly tired all day, achy, had a fever. We had to cancel our plans for the day, and Ive been in bed so exhausted. Thank goodness we planned it when my husband had a day off. Hes been a real gem just got me Pho and is watching TV with me while I sleep it off.
The first Pfizer felt like this back in the Spring but not nearly as bad, so Im surprised. The second shot wasnt bad at all.
This worse reaction makes me wonder if the antibiotics I was just on affected my immune system since I guess it wipes out your gut health. 🤷?♀️ The fever is breaking, so its getting better and I just took an ibuprofen for the horrible headache. Ack!
Still worth it, though! So glad to get it done.

(20,841 posts)Older males seem to have less symptoms. Not a huge sample, but my work had a booster shot fair so I know a number of people now that have done it.

(11,599 posts)I got the flu shot a half hour after my booster. Some arm pain and I slept 10 hours that night. The arm pain was a little worse than the second shot but much better than the first.
Edit: Congratulation on getting your booster.

(205,319 posts)And what you described sounds like how I felt after shot #2, which lasted that night and the next day, so that's what I'm expecting from the booster.
Rhiannon12866
(205,319 posts)Let us know how it goes. I felt pretty rotten after shot #2, bad chills and kinda woozy, but it only lasted that night and the next day and I figured this meant it was working. Hope you continue to feel fine and thanks for stepping up!

(31,386 posts)Sore arm, some fatigue yesterday. Went to bed early and ended up awake at 1:30 am so I stayed up to watch the lunar eclipse.
Mild muscle/joint stiffness today. Took a 2 hour nap this afternoon and now getting ready to go to sleep.

(53,032 posts)The first 24 hours, I felt nothing. Then I got the worst chills and a fever.
I hadn't had any reactions other than a sore arm to my Pfizer doses, but I had Moderna for the booster. It's now the third day and I'm feeling okay but wasn't feeling great earlier today.
Here's how bad my chills were: I turned the heat up to 78, wore a thick comfy, and got into bed with a really thick down comforter, and I was still freezing.

(24,284 posts)It's been 24 hours since I got the shot. I'm feeling a little mild pain in my arm. I would describe it as in the muscles, not the joints. It's sort of like how you would feel if you overdid things at the gym the day before. Just feels like that arm was worked a little hard yesterday, although it wasnt.
Mr.Bill
(24,284 posts)the slight pain in my arm went away in a few hours. Feeling fine now.

(54,370 posts)No reaction so far except some fatigue, but considering that I haven't had one full day at home since last Monday--and won't again until next Wednesday--I don't think I can blame the vaccine for that.
