(1,342 posts)Regardless of their crimes, they were served in a court of law. Apparently they both served their time and faced consequences. Neither of which KR will ever do.
KR didn't know the histories of the deceased, nor should he. He did not have to serve as executioner for people who served their time. KR had no credentials for carrying an assault weapon nor using it
This is victim blaming, and the dead cannot speak for themselves.

(17,291 posts)I was trying to think of response but you said it better than I could've. I can't believe some of the stuff I've read on DU lately.

(34,857 posts)Maybe they can justify shooting and killing you too?
All I know is that it wasn't Kyle's job to go down there with a gun, intimidate and then kill. Vigilante justice is still vigilante justice even if the person did some horrible things. Once you cross that line and start accepting it, you open the door for other people to turn around and kill those who might not be, as you say, scumbags.

how can any progressive think like this? That justice should be meted based on the worthiness of the victims
that is just FUCKED UP

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
