(1,954 posts)Eaten four hides dealing with this, and I anticipate at least two more. But for what it's worth, it means a lot, coming from you. Thank you. If I get through this, I'll see you on the other side. If not... Well, "Its Chinatown". And I wish you nothing but the best.

(68,816 posts)a badge of honor. I've had completely fine posts removed for ... what? There wasn't anything wrong with them. Someone was upset.
The best to you too. Please carry on. I appreciate the work you're doing.

(1,954 posts)And no, that's not me asking you to just give up quotes and get a few more hides, but WTF. You're an old-timer with an incredibly level head and a fantastic sense of logic and sensibility.
Ugh. Anyways, can't say more without risking a hide. But have a wonderful day. I'll keep speaking my truth, until the world collapses on me. And I know you'll do the same.
Thank you again.

I can't recall, and if I could recall, someone would alert on this post, for {redacted}.

(1,954 posts)but that you use "[REDACTED]" is enough for me. That, and the Goofy Movie GIF.
Okay, enough of the love-fest. o7 It's a true pleasure. Time to see if I make it through the next 24. See you on the other side, mate. o7

(68,816 posts)I had to look {you know what} up. I won't tell anyone.

(1,954 posts)But I have to lay low for now, the Rittenhouse thing has threatened the stability of the operation. (Insert dubious side to side look for effect)
For anyone reading from the sidelines: "The SCP Foundation" is a -fantastic- little short-story collaboration across multiple platforms and media. I'd suggest reading for anyone with more than 250 hours to spend reading and at least 290 hours to spend writing! Absolutely amazing platform (And also sanctioned by Mahatmakanejeeves by virtue of their amaze-ness!)

(8,170 posts)reading redacted in between the lines and with curiousity.
P.S. I haven't weighed in on the subject and I haven't followed the minutia of the story and events; largely because I cut my former addiction to most all things tied to cable news post elections with a brief interlude on Jan 6th. for mental heath reasons.
The only exception is what i stumble across on DU. I read these comments and some news excerpts here... I've tended to have mixed thoughts about the entire episode. The occasional reality check suggesting the circumstances leading to the trial might not exactly how it's been portrayed by some in our community, and needs to be given more consideration and reflection.
Still, it's complicated. I'm emotionally predisposed or inclined to think the mf'ing punk should have been found guilty for "obvious" reasons, and that it was an outrageous travesty that the jury did not convict. Sort of similar to my feelings regarding the OJ trial.
Again, I didn't watch or listen to the trial.. just read comments here on the day to day.
Beginning to understand I haven't been fully informed of some important facts. And other "facts" turns out not to be accurate.
Thanks again for your pov.

Sure ...
Not.

(129,746 posts)"Stand your ground" doesn't mean you are defending physical territory you own or the state you live in, it was intended only to mean you are defending your own space and safety. It's an aspect of self-defense but it's completely irrelevant to the case.

(78 posts)You can't sue the rail company if you stand on the tracks with a train approaching.

(5,756 posts)Claiming is true (it is not) that WI is not a stand your ground state? In WI you have a duty to retreat if possible. That is why there was so much made of who was chasing who.
