Is society evolving toward gun-free gated playgrounds, malls, etc?

Who wouldn't flock to an area to shop or let the kids play that was guaranteed gun-free these days?

That's assuming that the courts don't declare those places de facto public areas and force them to admit armed people anyway.

If they did establish those you would have to pay a large entrance fee milestogo Nov 2021 #6
And how do you guarantee that? NickB79 Nov 2021 #7
Then you have metal detectors and guards. Girard442 Nov 2021 #8

victim is a child or grandchild of a republican Senator or House Rep.

When one of their own kin get killed in the crossfire, then it's likely the gated scenario you mention may be considered.

1. Put a fence around the village.
2. Put a fence around the tigers.

Maybe we need a few fenced off areas here and there where guns are permitted. Let the gun nuts visit their own little gun preserves and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

Here at the Mall of America, they have big signs saying guns are prohibited in the mall. Only an idiot thinks there aren't dozens of people carrying concealed at any given time. And if you do get caught? Security escorts you out, because it doesn't rise to the level of calling the police.

Short of metal detectors and guards like an airport, you can't guarantee a gun-free zone anymore.
