David Corn: It's bedwetting time.

So should the sheets be soaked?

Given the media’s love affair with the Democrats-in-disarray narrative, it might be easy to dismiss this current bout of alarm and dread. After all, it seems that Biden and the Ds could be close to enacting the Build Back Better package, which contains a host of popular programs. (The House passed the measure without a single GOP vote on Friday. Now the world waits on Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.) Can the Dems regain ground by nailing this legislation and messaging the hell out of their historic accomplishments?

It may not be that easy. I wonder if sending Biden to the hinterlands to stand in front of one bridge after another to claim credit (legitimately) for a revival of the nation’s transportation and cyber infrastructure will do the trick. He might need to do something else: Slam the Republicans.

.............

Biden must clearly delineate the choice at hand. Name names. The 2022 election is not about healing. It is about division. He and the Democrats can’t coast on their accomplishments. (See 2010.) They must fiercely define the enemy and attack—of course, with grace, wit, and integrity. After all, that’s what the Republicans will be doing, but without grace, wit, and integrity.

I certainly hope traipsing President Biden around the country for photo ops isn't the whole show. We should be ripping the Republicans a new alimentary exit port. Every single day. Repeatedly mock and scorn the Republicans. Steal their girlfriends and boyfriends. Take their lunch money. They're sitting ducks. Repeatedly take it to them. Then repeat the repetition. And repeat that repetition. And repeat that one too. Then go to the previous sentence.

Corn sums it up very well:

External events may dramatically tilt the playing field for 2022. If there is a new COVID surge and persistent inflation, there won’t be much Biden can do to save the Democrats. But beyond holding photo ops at bridges, transportation hubs, child care facilities, and automobile factories, he will have to tell a political tale of high stakes, of heroes and villains. Specific villains, who can be expected to gin up one phony panic after another.

It reminds me of abused wives who keep coming back for mistreatment ridiculously believing their abuser is going change. It a hopeless cause if Democrats think that a party that thrives on hatred will get a conscience. They should be calling the Republicans exactly what they are: Bloody Fascists and their party the reincarnation of the the NAZI regime of murderous thugs. Every time McCarthy and his minions spew their lies they should be drown them out with screaming that they are damnable lying scumbags. When the party gets a pair of balls then they will see the people rally to their side. What the people see is a party of weak kneed pansies who would abandon them when challenged.

81 million people, millions who risked their well-being by standing in long lines, didn't go to the polls just for bridges & roads. We went for accountability of the Trump administration. And for voting rights legislation. If we don't have something by next spring to rev up the base, we could lose a chamber & then nothing will get done. GOTV has always been our strong suit, but with the suppression legislation that has been passed in so many states, even that's at risk. We can't afford an apathetic base.

Donald Trump should have NEVER been in the Repub Primary Election race at all, much less the GE.

Mr Corn, you sit at the highest eschelons of Media. Well Connected to that inner world that few of us ever know of.

Where T F were YOU in 2015/2016 when the influence of RU was clearly a known force?

Where was this old sage ADVICE to your readers & your growing social media dominance?
What MESSAGE WERE YOU SENDING?

Now you slap another degrading bullshit Meme on the Party YOU helped bury back in 2016?

Dear Mr Corn.
It was YOU that pissed in the Democratic Party's bed back in 2016.
YOU WET THAT BED.

YOU jumped on the Trump train, every time you degraded the only candidate placed to defeat this atrocity of our American Democracy.
Our US Constitution stands at risk today, because YOU chose to align against the only person that held the power of defeating what we now face today.

Yes, Mr Corn. I Will never forget those who stood not with America, but wavered somewhere in the middle screaching for goddamned 'Free Shit".

You played the same "Money & Media" profit game they all did, as the behest of our America.

So fk you, Mr Corn.
I remember how YOU personally contributed to the demise of the ONLY PERSON THAT STOOD BETWEEN US & THE APOCOLYPSE, thru the words you spoke & wrote.

IT WAS YOU THAT PISSED IN AMERICA'S BED, NOT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

STFU.

"I think there is another cost to our society around the Rittenhouse trial and it is the warping affect of the constancy of media coverage around the worst of us at the cost of ignoring the best of us. All across America there are stories of good people doing heroic deeds."
In referencing the Media Affect on the Rittenhouse fiasco, as example, Mr Schmidt makes clear the Media's obsession in churning out drama-for-profits.

Excellent Read.

Sat Nov 20, 2021, 04:34 PM

I remember high school in the 70's. We'd get out of school, stop at the local drug store and pick up a National Enquirer and some 16oz bottles of Sunkist (great stoner drink back then), walk down the railroad tracks and hop into an empty box car. We'd light up a 5 inch Cheech and Chong with seed infested, burn a hole in yer shirt popping, praying it wasn't soaked in paraquat, 7 gram joint rolled in a strawberry "no roach clip required" EZWider fitted with a straightend paper clip, and laugh our asses off at the pictures of 3 headed Elvis aliens that purportedly kidnapped an Iowa preachers daughter and turned her into a communist.

45 years later the weed has gotten really good (too good IMO) with no seeds and is almost legal. However, no need to pick up an Enquirer anymore. Just turn on the mind raper to the "serious" news channels, read a "serious" news rag, or peruse a "serious" news website and it feels like those 3 headed Elvis aliens are everywhere.

The new media are like Vegas sports line makers. They will raise/lower the line(criticism) if one team is getting to strongly bet on. 50/50 is where the real money is at.

Want to win in 2022? Time to start painting the GOP as the party of Nazis, terrorists, and murderers. The world needs to know who the GOP really is, and they do not abide by the rule of law. They truly showed it yesterday with their celebrating and fawning over the Rittenhouse verdict. It's seriously disgusting. The GOP is now the party of terrorism and they need to be painted as such.
