Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland is under investigation by the Idaho Attorney General's Office after he allegedly pulled a gun on a group of girls and a woman at his home last week, the East Idaho News reports.
On Nov. 9, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Women's group left thank-you notes on the homes of members in their congregation, which included Rowland's. After the note was left, Rowland then reportedly emerged from his house carrying a gun.
While yelling threats, he made his way over to the car with the girls and the woman, and then allegedly pulled the woman out of the car and made further threats. The girls and the woman were eventually able to drive away and call 911.
It's still not clear why Rowland acted the way he did, and as of this Monday, no charges have been filed.
"I have no comments," Rowland told the East Idaho News.
In a statement on Monday, Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Rogers said that "to protect the integrity of the investigation and to avoid undue intrusion into the private lives of the persons involved, Bingham County is unable to comment further regarding the subject of the investigation at this time."
Rowland has taken a leave of absence while the investigation is conducted.

(23,029 posts)Those people aren't supposed to ever touch alcohol. He may be hearing from his bishop soon.
Of course, we already know he's not much of a human, so that's really beside the point. It just struck me as incredibly ironic, if it's true.

(37,370 posts)i guess he isn't too happy with his church (or the girls in the "young women's" group)
and by pulling his gun on them he was only protecting himself against against these girls
that'll show them and hopefully stop them from leaving any more thank you notes!!!

(18,375 posts)Just look at some of the Twitter feeed stuff on him. He doesn't think rape kits are important because most is not strangers and it is agreed that there is sex - the only question being consensual or date rape (which he seems to think isn't a thing).
After those statements he still won the election in 2020 with 85% of the vote.
Wonder now that they are eating their own (LDS girls and women) if the perspective will change.

(4,258 posts)a group of young girls pose a grave threat to all who encounter them.
*They may with force, tie up both of your hands and make you buy cookies.
*They may wave cardboard signs within tens of feet of your car demanding they wash your car in order for their band to go to Omaha for summer music camp.
Be very aware of gangs of young girls.
