Person of Interest in Wisconsin Parade Rampage Had Just Posted Bail on Violent Charges

A person of interest in the SUV attack that killed at least five and injured dozens more at a quaint holiday parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday has been identified as a 39-year-old who recently posted bail on reckless-endangerment charges.

Darrell Brooks was taken into custody as a person of interest and was being questioned in connection with the Sunday evening incident involving a red Ford Escape that plowed through barricades and into the crowd, sparking panic and unleashing mass bloodshed, NBC News first reported. The sprawling disaster left members of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies among the dead, and at least a dozen children and a priest among the injured.

NBC News cited five law-enforcement officials who also noted investigators were looking into the possibility the Milwaukee resident had been fleeing an earlier incident involving a knife fight at the time of the Sunday parade. Brooks has not been charged with a crime nor named an official suspect in the Sunday incident, but the Associated Press also reported Brooks was a person of interest, citing two officials.

Public records show Brooks has a significant criminal history in Wisconsin that spans over two decades. This past Friday, he posted a cash bond in connection with charges including resisting or obstructing an officer, bail jumping, recklessly endangering safety with domestic-abuse assessments, disorderly conduct with a domestic-abuse assessment, and battery.

Assuming the named person was in a knife fight-

If he was defending himself from someone trying to inflict vigilante justice for his past crimes- yes I would support him on self-defense

If was was in a knife fight for any other reason- I would not support him

Whomever drove through the parade- that is indefensible

The thinking is only in lines of what possible defense could be raised, even if it means thinking against your interests.
So this guy, any guy with any history, runs from the armed vigilantes with his knife in hand, and fleeing for his life in his vehicle, makes the choice to run through what he perceives as protesters.

Doesn’t mean it is pertinent, logical, or useful to the topic at hand. Which is a deliberate vehicular attack by a career felon on bond for violent crime which allowed him physical availability to carry out this crime.

Chaos imagery and fear is red-meat for campaign ads. Even more so when actual occurrences can be used to support it.

Brooks’ most recent court appearance came on Nov. 5 for charges including reckless endangerment, battery, domestic abuse, resisting arrest and bail jumping. He was out on $1,000 bail for those charges at the time of the attack.

and some very anti-law enforcement, anti-white people supposed social media posts circulating, though the accounts seem to have been taken down so nothing can be verified.

If those posts are real (and that is a VERY big IF), this could lead to some rather nasty backlash.

The bail seemed to be for other unrelated charges. There is a whole lot that we don't know as yet.
