So real quick: Looking to get my booster today. I'm originally Team Pfizer.

Any benefits to getting a Moderna booster if offered, or should I stick with Pfizer all the way through?

ON UPDATE: They automatically gave me Pfizer. I guess it was for the sake of continuity. Don’t really mind, although I was kind of curious about the Moderna experience….

A nurse practitioner friend I consulted, along with what I've read, made it seem like a wash either way.

I had minor side effects.

Slight sore arm for less than 24 hrs although the second shot hurt a little more. A guy I know got booster yesterday, he's sick as a dog today.

The first Pfizer two shots were meh, a bit of lethargy after the second shot, but nothing to moan about. After Saturday's booster, I have some soreness at the injection site, was feeling cold much of the day Sunday (unusual for me), and felt a little punk this morning. But again, nothing to moan about.

Treat yourself kindly, and if you can, take some time off.

The one closest to me that had Pfizer was fully booked on Friday, November 12th, which was my first eligible day. They told me I could try one further from town, and they weren't even very busy, so I got the shot about noon. My ex had hers the previous Wednesday, got very ill, 101 temp and almost no strength the next day. She wanted me to get the shot on a Friday in case she had to help me over the weekend when she would be available. I had hardly any symptoms, which I think annoyed her somewhat.
Make sure someone is on hand in case you have a bad reaction, like my ex did.

My appointment’s not until Dec. 8. Although they say you can mix and match, I’m not comfortable personally doing that.

Whatever you do: DRINK WATER. STAY HYDRATED.
I didn't pay attention to fluid intake and I was feeling crappy the next day.

I suggest just stick with pfizer, Moderna is similar but at 3 times the amount of mRNA more resulting stuff for your body to clear. The study of the mix and match was just 50 of each combo so not a lot of data to draw from.
