It does seem as if every time a new variant is identified, people totally freak out about how terrible this new version is. Wasn't there one called Lambda a few months ago? Haven't heard anything about it in quite a while.

For years, if not decades. There is simply no way for them to keep people up to date on the vaccine and there are high levels of vaccine hesitancy on top of that.

Every six months or so another covid variant will rear it’s ugly head and every 6 months or so Moderna/Pfizer will “reinvent” another booster to deal with the latest variant…this is our lives now…after 9/11 the world flipped and we groused about the long security lines…not anymore…years from now a twice yearly covid booster will be the “new normal” but not yet…two years ago would any conversation start with “so, are you Moderna or Pfizer?”

After years of raising kids and having to buy Transformers, it was the first thing I thought of when I heard the name of Omicron.

Transformers…so I scoured the internet for all old/new transformers (action figures?), cartoons, and movies…the kid still has them…and I’m thinking with so many covid variants it’s time to give the Greek alphabet and anoint this particular strain the Optimus Prime Varient…sounds so much better the the almost impossible to say Omicron…
