Got mine today (Pfizer). Like the others, I have not felt sick. Unlike the others, my arm is very sore.

and the day after my booster was pretty challenging (malaise, achey, fatigue!) but nothing compared to the utter knockout after my second Moderna shot.
Good luck, LiberatedUSA!

(31,187 posts)No other side effects. Got my #3 Pfizer within 24 hours of authorization for HCP.
Grateful for it and will repeat as often as needed. I have cared for COVID patients and administered thousands of COVID tests. Never had it. Don't want it thankyouverymuch.

(589 posts)If I DID NOT have a sore arm after a Covid vax I'd be worried that something was wrong w/ the med.
The ache is normal.

(39,646 posts)The booster gave me a mild headache for two days.

(4,323 posts)and a wicked stomach ache. About 36 hours. I was J&J with a moderna booster. I will say that my shingles vaccine was much worse!

(75,684 posts)Pfizer, as well. Slight soreness in the arm nothing else.
My booster was Moderna (all 3 shots were). My booster caused a flushed feeling & a slight ache across the shoulders. But, it only lasted a few hours. No big deal, really.

(54,126 posts)205/105, I kid you not.
I tried not to panic and waited until the next morning with my cardiologist. B/P had lowered to 165/95, not great but better. Four weeks later, it's back to 133/85.

(49,445 posts)My third shot of Pfizer, the pharmacist used kind of spring-loaded gizmo indeed of a regular syringe, so my arm hurt a bit more and longer than the 1st or 2nd spot, but it was still minor.
No side effects from the booster, just like first two shots.

(3,754 posts)But not so sore that it makes much difference--like a localized sore muscle from exercise.
Maybe a bit low energy, but it's hard to tell since that's my natural state.
Had no side effects at all from original two Pfizers.

(6,448 posts)I have already started to drink an extra bottle of water or Gatorade-zero each day. I have a six pack of 7-up for Thursday and Friday just in case my stomach feels queasy. I will be getting the Pfizer just like my first two shots. With those first two I had a headache and sore arm. Also the second shot left me feeling very sleepy for following two days. I won't be touching the injection site and will do the arm exercises as suggested by several DU earlier this year.

Now, I felt bad for 1 day after the flu shot.
I also had the shingles shots, they hurt for several days!

(8,531 posts)I had a 102 fever the night after my second shot and was braced for a similar reaction after the booster, but I felt absolutely fine other than a sore arm for a couple of days.
AngryOldDem
(14,180 posts)I got sick as a dog after my second shot. Also Moderna. Was bedridden for almost the entire day with what felt like a bad case of the flu. The nurse who gave me my second dose was right on the money with when things could kick in.
That said, I felt fine the next day.

Sore arm, but the flu shot is worse for me in that regard...

(25,615 posts)A little sore at the site after the shot for a little bit.
So far nothing else.
Had just sore at site 1st shot for a bit. 2nd shot a bit more sore by like between 1- 2 1/2 for a while, a couple of hours at most.

(27,776 posts)We neither knew the tune, my feet were just concrete enough to not lift and step, but slid along the floor, Boo held me tight for a slow spin and dip, and I laid back and down for the following day, tucked into my dance clothes and blankets, dreaming the steps through a hazy mist
I have the vacc/dance card to show for it

(1,354 posts)Sore arm from the start but 24hrs later, chills, low grade fever and muscle aches. Maybe lasted 12hrs and then just fine. Feel that any kind of reaction is a positive sign immune system is doing something?

(1,846 posts)not even a sore arm. The first two, felt a little tired and achy and had sore arm, so no biggie. But it was nice to have no effects from the booster.

(112 posts)and had no reaction from any of them. No sore arm, no aches, no temp, as normal as could be for the next week or so. No reaction at all. I should mention I'm 80 years old, not that it means anything, I know some young cowards whining about all sorts of nonsense.
Edit to add...
Sorry, I should have said "In real life I know some younger whiners". Not that that is an excuse, but still, I'm sorry.

(8,116 posts)Had to take Tylenol to ease the pain so I could sleep. I got the flu shot the same day in the other arm. Both arms were equally sore.

(754 posts)I was completely exhausted, just collapsed on a sofa for eight hours, 24 hours after the shot. I was still tired from jet lag and not sleeping well so that likely made things worse. About 8 hours later I was functional, and by the next day I was fine except for the sore arm. That lasted for days. If I had had to work that day I could have but it would have been tough.
A friend sent me a vaccine protocol from the clinic where she works.Vitamin C and zinc, NSAIDs and plenty of fluids. I drank Smart Water and EmergenC and took a fewTylenol.

(6,448 posts)Taking the precautions that I took back in March and April when I got the first two shots. One question with the headaches. Can a take Excedrin for the headache or must it be Tylenol? Does exercising the arm that receives the injection hurt less if one exercises it after the injection? DUers gave that advice and the hurt was less with the second shot than the first one.
I am more apprehensive now than with the first round.
msfiddlestix
(8,159 posts)not a single negative effect. sore arm? negligible. hardly noticed. a temporary and slight ache, noticed only when stretching out, and only for a very short period of time. Been feeling just fine. Am glad that I made the appointment.

(22,628 posts)Pfizer or Moderna did fine. My arm wasn't as sore as when I got the 2nd dose. Everyone else who shared their experiences, and thank God there are many, also did fine. From young to old, no problems

(25,615 posts)Back of deltoid still sore, but less using Arnica Montana cream.
Only had a brief bit of a little soreness on shot #2.
All Pfizer.
Otherwise I'm good, and glad I got it. 👍

(44,385 posts)Next day, I had a sore arm and an extremely mild headache (far less than if I had some drinks.)
Also felt a pleasant buzz around the afternoon. Not kidding. Felt the same with my first shot.
Iggo
(49,585 posts)Still is.
After my second shot I felt fine for about a day, and on the second day it was BOOM yer done, Iggo. Second half of the second day and a full night feeling like I had the flu. Next day I felt exhausted, but that was it.
This time I got my shot just after noon and I barely had time for a late lunch. Come 2:45 I was down for the count. Fever. Chills. Body aches. The whole nine yards. Thought I might sleep through the worst of it again, but no such luck. Woke up at 4:45am with severe flu symptoms, even worse than earlier. Tylenol and what felt like a half gallon of water later, hit the sack again until it was time to call my supervisor to tell him I was fucked for today.
And its basically been like that all day (its 5:25pm pacific time right now.) Ive been in and out of consciousness, taking my dope every 6 hours, forcing down a few slices of bread, and then back to bed.
If I didnt work from home Id probably call in tomorrow, too. But I think I should be ready to go.
(If any of that didnt make sense, remember

(59,688 posts)Some fatigue, but with my work schedule, I always have that. The second one back in May gave me an aching loser back from 16 hours after the shot to 21 hours after the shot. I then felt a sudden heavy fatigue, slept deeply for about two hours, and then was as good as new. Number one and the booster (Nov. 13) just the sore arm, as I mentioned above.
My wife had aches all over and was very tired after her booster, but was Ok on day 3.
All Moderna for useasy to get in Texas (first two), difficult to find where we live in the Rheinland.
