"baby" and that abortion is therefore "murder" ignore what the Bible says about that?
To my admittedly imperfect knowledge, the only biblical insight into the status of the unborn is found in Exodus 21:----22 When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a MISCARRIAGE, and yet NO HARM follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the womans husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe." (Emphasis mine)
So, if two men fight and, in the course of their combat, accidentally push or strike a pregnant woman and cause her to have a miscarriage, i.e., spontaneously ABORT, that is , according go the Good Book, "no harm".

(16,844 posts)a spontaneous abortion. They weren't as successful as a Morning After pill or other modern methods, but they frequently did accomplish the goal. Since they had these methods in biblical times, you'd think that the Bible would have prohibited them if it was considered sinful to use them. But the Bible doesn't bring it up anywhere, in either the Old or New Testament.
I don't think that fundagelicals really care about how sacred life is. Most of them are for capital punishment and most have no qualms about joining the military. They hate abortion because it can be a form of birth control, and they hate birth control because it helped bring about the Sexual Revolution, and to them that was the worst event in modern history.
