(146,254 posts)to empower our campaigns in 2022 and increase our majorities in Congress. Then, repeat that in 2024. Only then, if we can establish solid majorities in both houses of Congress, we can begin talking about constitutional amendments. That is not a short-term possibility, but rather a long-term strategy.
I see a glimmer of hope in the local elections in Georgia, where a number of elective offices were flipped. We need to do the same everywhere, using whatever campaign options we have available to us. As Democrats, we need to change our lousy turnout in off-year and midterm elections and turn the tables on Republicans.
We can do it if we have the will to do it. I hope that is the case.

(1,203 posts)BUT the right is already working on calling for a Constitutional Convention and I fear, on the agenda will be a new proposed updated Constitution to outlaw all abortions in all states.
