I happen to catch his post around 1:30AM EST. ..
He had a pretty bad fall - missed last 3 steps on the stairs. Nothing broken he said but started to really hurt. (no kidding)
Was going to go to sleep.
I'm concerned he might have had a concussion, or some else got bad later.

(17,425 posts)Thanks so much for checking in, electric_blue68!
Sore all over, screwed up my foot a bit, but my brain seems to be semi-functioning. No head injury, but feels like I got punched in the face. Nothing broken, with the possible exception of a big toe that I'm monitoring. Foot got wedged tight against a step riser, with the toe getting bent back, and my heel wedged against the lip of the next highest step.
I'll be around later probably posting my usual crap.
DU is the best!
Stay safe, everyone, and thanks also to anyone who kicked or replied on this thread.

If that had happened to me I'd probably have flopped around at the foot of the stairs like a gaffed carp until I expired and then my cat would have eaten me, so I'm relieved you escaped such a fate.

(10,176 posts)Ive fallen a few times this year, so far no lasting damage, thank goodness. I was really worried about my balance and clumsiness lately, even made an appointment to see my doc. Included poor memory and brain fog. As it turns out it appears to be the antihistamines I was taking, everything seemed to clear up once I stopped. Stay safe, we arent as flexible and resilient as we used to be.

(3,160 posts)I misjudged a curb while crossing the street. I didn't fall, but I came close. My ankle and leg were bruised for weeks. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Next time on the steps hold onto the railing, that's what I do every time. I never trust my own sense of balance any more, I must hold on to be sure. It's scary when you live alone (as I do) and you wonder what might happen.
