The only 100% effective birth control methods are abstinence or a hysterectomy

Tubal ligation can fail. The pill can fail. Condoms fail. Vasectomies can fail.

I considered a tubal ligation but now I'm thinking it would be risky because if I had a breakthrough pregnancy, it would take weeks or even months before I knew the truth. False sense of security and all.

Are we really expected to live like this? In fear of being forced into an unwanted pregnancy?

I hate to suggest condoms in addition to the main method, but they really help block that last percent or so.

If that doesn't make you feel secure enough, have a backup plan and budget for a trip to whichever nearby state allows surgical abortion. Or one with a destination you'd like to visit. (Assuming you're not already living where it'll remain legal.)

And of course vote Democrat at every chance to protect our rights, and restore legalized abortion if that becomes necessary.

None of this includes resigning oneself to victimhood. In fact, best advice for those inclined would be to knock it off. People who won't take proper care of themselves of course are at greatly increased risk of becoming parents.

The combination of complete salpingectomy and vasectomy should reduce the 10 year odds of pregnancy to less than 10 in a million.
