(57,073 posts)I call it "football mentality" - take it by force... Patriarchal thinking at its worst.
I agree about PTSD for sure!

(5,173 posts)Patriarchal thinking no doubt, and so far not enough consequences. I'm glad the prosecution is charging these parents, they were inciting their child to do something? It almost comes out as planned by the text language.

(57,073 posts)"Parents" (or school / resource officer / social worker) should have involuntarily committed the murderer for a psych eval when those drawings were found!

(57,073 posts)Off to the psych ward. Non stop! And that was a elementary grade student.
Anything less is being remiss in ethical obligations!!!
Imho, school should have suspended him, pending full psych eval!
Infuriating!

(5,173 posts)Or the good old boys club, friends of the principal etc...
Investigate them and hold them responsible for not keeping the school safe, which ended in dead students and a terrorized district.

(1,955 posts)that there may have been privacy issues, although it certainly seems to me that the school could have dismissed him pending counseling. However, if the parents refused to take him home, what could the school do? Kick him out on the street to commit mayhem there? What an awful predicament.

(57,073 posts)If there was a mental health professional involved, & that person did not conduct a homicidal ideation screening &/or make a formal rec the kid not be allowed to remain on the premises, guess who will no longer have a license to practice?
Unlike lawyers, doctors, politicians, & others who are given free passes for bad decisions...
This is unconscionable!

Who knows who is the good guy or bad guy with a gun?
I guess when you see one, you have to wait to see if they shoot anybody before you know... this is ridiculous.

(14,978 posts)what do these open-carry fuckers expect their fellow "self-defense" enthusiasts to do, exactly? Be uber-observant, near-omniscient, and hyper-rational?
If they truly expect that they are fucking stupid. Being proven correct/righteous means fuck-all when you're dead.
Shitheads like this "gentleman" are an unnecessary mess waiting to happen. It's just a matter of time; we will see people shooting guys like him believing them to be active shooters.

(11,770 posts)In every mass shooting. Who is the guy walking around with what appears to be a gun? Further terror inflicted on the community. Cops need to find that guy and question his motives.
