.... of the GQP. Even then, we might have already passed the point where there is no one left with any sense or power to turn the ship to a sane course toward stricter gun control.

Currently, it appears all of the second amendment supporters have been able to get the "well-regulated militia" portion of the original version of the second amendment ignored?

How did that happen?

Wasn't it eliminated because the right to protect one's home (castle) enumerated in the fourth amendment didn't require membership in a "well-regulated militia"? So the right for a state to have its own militia was found to be? What, illegal, unnecessary WHAT?

YET without militia membership, what home (personal castle) was Rittenhouse protecting on the streets of Kenosha Wi.?

And how can Governor DeSantis in Flordia form his own "militia" and define it as necessary? When Flordia has State Police, National Guard, Local city and county law enforcement agency. WHY a private state army?

How can the strict constructionist on SCOTUS ignore these facts? Time to review the original Second Amendment??

And finally, as some SCOTUS justices have suggested, in the current Roe v Wade case, that stare decisis HAS BEEN ignored in previous cases. Hinting that they might reverse Roe.

Then there is this with Roe being established in 1973 and has been Precedent since then.

Precedent is a legal principle or rule that is created by a court decision. This decision becomes an example, or authority, for judges deciding similar issues later. Stare decisis is the doctrine that obligates courts to look to Precedents when making their decisions.

...in Thoughts&Prayers. The big gun money is too pervasive in our legislative bodies. The guns are now an integral part of their pseudoreligion. Praise Jesus and pass the ammo.

See Liz Cheney. See Nancy Mace.

See all the TFG minions dumped by the wayside over the years.

The NRA will not allow the GQP to do anything about Gun Violence.

mass demonstrations dangerous to participants. If not for that, I would like to see massive demonstrations in DC and in every city across the nation demanding an end to gun violence, prosecution of parents who are careless with guns around children, more restrictions on open carry.

we need repeated demands from large numbers of people, accompanied by relentless, graphic ads against elected officials who have ties to the NRA or who support laws against gun restrictions.

We have 300 million guns. They wont go away even if ALL were outlawed. And with 330M people even a minuscule % of nuts is a LOT of people.
What are criminals most scared of? Not sure. For ME, it would be jail or execution. Not sure if those people care about that though.
Personally I'd love to see quick executions of mass shooters. We KNOW they're guilty. They deserve nothing. Maybe SOME would think twice if they knew they'd get the needle the next month. Not 25 yrs later
