Effects of School Shooting

I am quite unsettled by the Crumbley school shooting. How many lives have been ruined, disturbed? I suspect that a lot of blame rests on the Cavalier and depraved indifference of the parents. Clearly the kid was deeply disturbed. Were the parents so self concerned that they neglected to notice their son was deeply depressed, feeling confused and hopeless? geeezzz! Did his parents seek help or counseling for that boy? Who buys a pistol as a Christmas present for a teenager? I can see buying a hunting rifle that is kept in a locked gun case and used only with supervision at a gun range or out hunting. But a pistol, loaded with bullets? No way.

And now that boy has ruined his life. Ruined his parents' lives. If there are siblings, they'll go into foster homes. How swell will that be? Ruined the lives of the victims' families. Disturbed all the kids in that school and their families. Ditto the larger community of that city and county. And the wider community of millions of people who learn about the event thru the news. All because his parents thought it was ok for a teen to have unsupervised access to a pistol, a loaded pistol.

I hope each parent will sit in a small gray cell for decades and decades with nothing to do but contemplate how they got themselves there.

May all beings be free of suffering, and free of the causes and conditions of suffering.

None of pain, death, suffering they cause is of any consequence to them.

Even killing school children, terrorizing them is part of the "freedom" they love so much.

James Crumbley's ex says he left them strapped for cash, calls Jennifer a 'monster'

Who is Ethan Crumbley’s half-brother Eli?

Eli Crumbley, 18, shares a father with his half-brother, Ethan Crumbley, 15, and originally lived with them when his parents separated.

The family previously lived in Jacksonville, Florida where Eli’s mom also resided, but James and Eli’s stepmom eventually moved them to Oxford, Michigan.

After some time living with his father and stepmother, Jennifer, Eli said something “felt off” and moved back to Florida to live with his mom in March 2021, leaving Ethan behind.

Sit in a classroom and concentrate on a lesson?

Kids are ambivalent about going to school as it is. Situations like the Crumblys make it near impossible to gain any enthusiasm for learning and just being in a public school where you can't be protected.
