Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAfter taking the Moderna booster yesterday 6ish in the PM. I went to bed thinking:
"I'M INVINCIBLE!!!" (1st and 2nd shots were a "breeze" for me).
"Not so fast there, kid!!". Said the head /joint pains and chills this afternoon...........
On the plus side I'm now able to pick up police scanner transmissions. And if I stand next to the TV. We can now pick up channel 2 (CBS) here in Chicago. Is that normal?

(12,904 posts)Tea bags. One bag, warm water, one half teaspoon of sugar in hubs giant coffee mug. Thats what I drink.
Ps
it will also settle my upset stomach, when I have one. Its like medicine.

(12,904 posts)My husband bowls with a guy who retired from work in Liptons tea mixing room (their plant is literally blocks from my house). They dont mix the tea there anymore, though. They make other things now, and I know several people that work there.
Their tea formulas are top secret, and the guys in the tea department were big shots! His was one of the most coveted jobs in the plant. It is really interesting to hear him talk about that work.
Get well soon!

(26,501 posts)at my old firm we were designing a new plant for an artificial flavoring company. I went a few times to their current space for surveys, meetings, etc. and would come out smelling like a "Cheez-It". Guys who worked there long term told me their sense of smell was all but gone. I'll take the tea plant any day over that.

(53,035 posts)after I had the shot. I had a fever and bad chills, but they didn't last more than about 6 hours. I was tired and icky feeling for longer.

(1,671 posts)until about 10 hours later...
several layers of blankets did not stop the chills , Advil did not stop the headaches and laying in bed just aggravated my lower back .
Thank goodness, I was back to normal on the 3rd day.

(53,035 posts)I wore a big fleece comfy to bed with the temp turned up to 78. I got entirely under a very thick down comforter, and I still couldn't get warm!

(2,009 posts)But last night I had the chills so bad that I slept wearing long underwear, a fleece hoodie (hood up), and fleece-lined socks in addition to my PJs (and under multiple layers of blankets).
I was resisting the urge to crank up the thermostat and got the long johns out to put next to the bed to pull on in case I was too chilled to fall asleep, but they felt so cozy I just pulled 'em on, deciding that if I overheated, I could get up and pull them off. I didn't overheat. I slept fairly well.
Tylenol got the headache under control for me and I feel mostly better now. If I start feeling like last night again, I'll probably add to my regimen a mugful of hot herbal tea.

(44,974 posts)Symptoms started the next day (fever, chills, etc) and lasted two days. Moderna arm showed up a couple of days after the shot and lasted about a week.

(8,055 posts)I finally broke down and took some Tylenol about noon today, we're both still pretty achy and wiped out.

(8,055 posts)by sheer coincidence we all ended up with Moderna--myself, husband, both adult sons). Booster is coming close as a rival though, in terms of feeling shitty. Get well soon!

Moderna 3, shoulder was not sore at all but for two days after I felt tired and sluggish.

(65,085 posts)The second Moderna was 3-4 times longer and twice the effects.
Hope your reaction passes quickly, too.
Oh, and: I live way south of the city, so I only pick up WGN.

She said she was having the same, and her gums were bleeding for no reason!
And just think. We'll do another in a couple of months!

(525 posts)I decided to go with Moderna for the booster since they gave me a choice. No side effects at all, not even a sore arm. Its been two weeks now.
New study from Harvard says Moderna is very slightly better.
