NBC Meet the Press host Chuck Todd declined to criticize Republican governors with anti-vaccination agendas while he blamed Democratic President Joe Biden and his administration for not pushing vaccine mandates hard enough.
"They're also telling us they want to have more tests available," he continued. "That's a promise that goes back two presidencies now. We've been promised more available testing, quicker, faster, at-home for over -- for now almost two years -- basically for the entire pandemic -- and we're still not there."
Despite Todd's complaint, PCR tests are widely available from CVS and other pharmacies.

(54,341 posts)His nickname of "Chuck Toad" will do nothing but stick harder with stupid comments like this.
If you want to be a Republican propagandist masquerading as a newscaster, go to Fox, where it it is S.O.P.
But Chuck has been doing this from the beginning:

(43,127 posts)GOP wants the public in fear of guns, shootings, vaccine requirements, CRT, inflation, LGBTQ. They will demonize anyone and anything that might give them an election advantage. We need to burst that paranoia and get inside voters' heads to turn off the paranoia.
This is the whole GOP ball of wax. Paranoia.

(4,006 posts)The study found that conservatives, by a wide margin, fear a host of things, loss of white privilege, immigrants, gun rights taken away, Democrats, China and far more. The study concluded that R politicians (and Fox-type media) do regularly instill fear in their constituents in order to maintain power and win at the ballot box. We liberals have far less inclinations to fear almost everything than the right does and even wonder why these folks accept these often ludicrous positions. Repetitive stoking of these ideas is what works with R voters.

Todd just comes across as a stupid person who thinks he's clever
Face facts: It doesn't matter what Pres Biden, You, I, or God says to these people, they aren't getting vaccinated
There was an article in Salon (link to article below) where they were talking to people in western Oklahoma (the article was on the stretch of road called Trump Highway) and the reporter asked on guy if he'd get vaccinated if Trump told him to and he said no (get ready for this) because Trump is a New York Liberal
How frickin' off the rails and in a ditch do you have to be to believe that il douche is a liberal

the quote from the article
A roomful of glares shot back at Tuchman, who then sat down and tried to press the issue with a group of men in hunter orange. "Trump's a liberal New Yorker," one said. "Why would we trust him?"

(64,995 posts)...when Todd worked at The Hotline, he was an open admirer of Lee Atwater.
While it's true he worked on a democratic campaign in the 90s, he was, a bit later, an admirer of the godfather of dirty tricksters.
I don't think he's ever been all that liberal. Just an opportunist.

(38,548 posts)There is a HUGE difference between health officials providing free testing and people being able to buy tests at CVS.
I don't really need to buy tests because I very rarely leave the house. (I'm vaccinated and when I DO leave the house I wear a mask.)
If I had to buy them, I couldn't afford to.
Maybe local health departments should be supplying them for FREE.

(1,396 posts)We, democrats, are supposed to reach out to libertarians that don't trust government, according to the former governor of Montana, otherwise the libertarians will keep voting for Rs. LOL.
Upchuck Terd is another vacuous soul selling hatred, tension and lies.
Oh, and just like the NPR article the other day saying misinformation is to blame for covid spread in repuke areas, instead of telling the truth that the repuke areas are resistant to learning as they hate everyone with a degree or a D next to their name.
