How Biden Is Reshaping The Courts
December 7, 2021 at 6:42 am EST By Taegan Goddard

FiveThirtyEight: “When he took over, 30 percent of active federal judges had been appointed by Trump. He also had just 49 federal court vacancies to fill at that point — less than half the number that Trump started with.”

“But Biden campaigned on offsetting Trump’s conservative stamp by nominating judges from diverse backgrounds, and he’s gotten more judicial nominees confirmed through the Senate than any president at this point in his first term in decades. Almost half of the 61 judges he’s nominated to the lower courts have been confirmed — a larger share than Trump or former President Barack Obama — although there’s been far less consensus in the Senate about Biden’s picks.”

“But perhaps even more significantly, Biden has delivered on his promise of diversity in a big way. According to our analysis, the vast majority of the judges who have been confirmed under his presidency are women or people of color. And the judges he’s named to the courts also have nontraditional professional backgrounds.”

. . . as long as the Supreme Court is in the hands of the Federalist Society for the next 40-50 years.

that makes the appointments just as important as the lower courts.

It's just like how state governments matter. And somehow we forgot.

Not everyone appeals. And sometimes the SC refuses to hear a case.

adjudicated by honorable jurists rather than the kind of far-right tRump appointees who misuse their power to persecute and depower minorities. And others. Like libtards, commies, satanists.

Most cases are finalized well below the appellate level. And most of those that make it that far stop there.

Since most of Trump's appointees were unqualified conservative extremists.

Part of the reason the right has so much success is that for every unqualified loudmouth nutjob, they have several quiet dedicated true believers who do have the credentials for their positions.

The latter are far more dangerous, just look at the havoc that one California judge has done with the gun cases that have crossed his desk.

This should be our new chant. We can chant it in church like the right does with their chant.
They are nothing but a bunch of political hacks who were installed by a crook.

Most of the new selections are replacing retiring Democratic appointees. Particularly when we're talking about the appellate courts and above.

So for his time in office, TFG punched above his weight and with less diversity. And 10% of those are proving to be loonies. That's my statistic.

And yes - you know Turtle was doing absolutely NOTHING else for 4 years but shoving judge confirmations through right up through to the GA Special election in January 2021 (outside of getting the tax breaks for the rich reconcilation package passed in 2017/2018). Thankfully with that GA election, we got Warnock and Ossoff, and that is when his Senate control was thankfully halted.
