It didn't help, however.

The Repug politicians don't care, we know that, but the average folks who are seeing benefits should know where they came from.

"They voted NO because Performative Activism is their thing...they should try to pass legislation before patting themselves on the back just for showing up to perform"

Quotes as to this rally ~
"The gall in bragging about how "we" did this is stunning given she voted against it."

"As for telling stories, several craven politicians who voted against BIF went home during the Thanksgiving recess and tried to grab credit for the funding that will be coming into their districts. That is neither a framing nor a narrative. It's out and out dishonesty. Politicians who do things like that are not worthy of public trust."

I'm guessing they've shifted to serious damage control following the severe blowback to the NO VOTE.

Not surprised Republicans would grift for cash & votes as they try to spin their NO vote into a but..but..but...what I really meant by that vote...umm.
Look at me. Send money!!

the Democrats "efforts to defund the police" while celebrating the additional $250 million that was going into Ohio law enforcement.

The problem? That $250 million came directly from the American Recovery Act, which passed in March without a single Republican vote and went on to be signed by Joe Biden.

So the Democrats exclusively enhanced police funding in Ohio.

Geez, it is what it is, if inflation is still raging near the midterms its over. This is not rocket science, we care about 1-6, we care about Repug hypocrisy, but swing voters do not care.

This is simple, swing voters vote their feelings about the economy, perception of the direction of crime, perception of the leaders ability to scare Russia and China, their kids schools.

Swing voters will blame whoever is in power even if the other side obstructs or is the cause. If food and gas prices are considered high we are done, if Repugs can message about crime and China/Russia, if Repugs can persuade suburban parents like they did in VA that radical lefties are teaching their kids to be gender neutral and be ashamed of being white...we done, its a wrap.

If these things do not change by about the time school starts for next year, a few months before midterms, Dems will lose 40-60 seats in the House and will also lose the Senate.

Diminution of anxiety, hope for the future, feelings of security and wellbeing are all huge calming, stabilizing forces that work for us. Their spreading the word works for us. FOR democracy and against RW revolution. To save the soul of America

Who the people credit for their local projects and all the good new jobs matters, of course, but is less important than reassurance that we're going to be okay. More than okay for those not too deluded and demoralized to believe it.

Besides, most people are not going to entirely forget that Republicans vehemently opposed the infrastructure bill, called it Democratic socialilsm, and called the very few Republicans who voted for it traitors.
