So, I got the booster today.

10 hours later, it's like my friend Hutch's knuckle punch to the arm when I never expected it. A mid-finger knuckle fist punch that ended up doing exactly what the booster shot is doing now. A little localized pain. nothing to complain about out loud, but something you remember for a while. Hutch would do that whenever I was spacing out, thinking about things in my own world. One quick knuckle punch and I was back in the shared reality.

So far no pain or symptoms. Keeping our fingers crossed, and hoping my eyes don't cross.

Hardly noticeable.

....detours....

Not like the old days when the needle size was 3x wider and 3x longer. But I was lucky.

I had a really close Uncle/Dr. that I had in my life for 40+ years. He was our Pediatrician, my Mom's OB/GYN*. Delivered all of my Sibs(4) and more than 5000 others in his 30 year of practice in our community....a GP that made house calls and converted eggs into services rendered. Deeply Catholic (Jesuit/Holy Cross/Georgetown Med) , WW2 Major(?) Surgeon in European Theater triage.

*And yet he proscribed BC.....hmmmm, he did the right moral thing, because he knew his patients.

At some point we diverged...1977?. Came back in the early 90's - we both had 2 kids still in diapers and it was fun reconnecting in a new and meaningful way....and then, he suddenly died. Sucks. Shedding a tear thinking about him in this moment.

And, he was also a golf-pro's pro. Lived/Played the Game, but taught for money at every opportunity. Winters in FL, Summer in ME...working full time at The Game. Doing what he loved. 40 years, only, but well lived

My injection spot itched for a couple of days. I felt a little chills but no big deal the next day after my low grade fever of 99,2* The next day., all good. I truly believe a little..very little discomfort is well worth it. Good on you n all for getting taken care of
