Did Trump really go nuts after losing his election for president on the second term?
Though I would argue that he was never right inside his head, lets look at the facts surrounding the election.
He started the big lie long before the election.
He stated that he will accept the results only if he won the election.
He quickly celebrated victory on election night when the votes were being counted.
His lawyers filed 60+ court cases to overturn the election that he lost.
He continued to spread the Big Lie of a stolen election.
He didnt acknowledge President Bidens victory.
He called Mitch using colorful names after Mitch acknowledged Bidens win.
We keep hearing of the crazy ideas that circulated in his meetings after his loss about martial laws, and possibly nuking someone.
He called the Secretary of State of Georgia to find votes to help him win the states.
He incited a violent insurrection to overthrow his own government.
He continues to spread garbage in his rallies.
A lot of the points that I mentioned above are illegal and downright criminal. I would argue that he moved quite a few rungs forward in the lunacy and the criminal scale with these thoughts and actions. What do you think?

(11,744 posts)Society is built upon rules, but also upon mores and traditions. Sociopaths have no regard for those things. They are "antisocial" which is typically why in the behavioral health field people who are diagnosed (not real diagnosis) or referred to as psychopaths and sociopaths are typically diagnosed (real diagnosis) with Antisocial Personality Disorder.
When a sociopath is poor, they will typically end up in prison, or dead at the hands of an intended victim, or higher order predator. Trump, having money, basically protected him from that consequence. Sociopaths use a level of charm to lure in victims and escape consequences. Like I said, throw fairly large chunks of money into the mix and you can become president.
Rich people typically play by different rules than the rest of us anyway, so when you have NO regard for the rules and no empathy, or shame (well there is shame, but it is masked in aggression and bravado), you can do a lot of damage.

(51,627 posts)She knows him and is a psychologist and she thinks that he is both crazy and cunning. That makes him extremely dangerous.
He's a nut that was given extreme amounts of power. It didn't make him less nuts.

of psychiatric care and incarceration.

(16,856 posts)He tried to convince everyone that mail-in ballots shouldn't be valid. He said the election would only be valid if he won. He knew exactly what he was doing the whole time and then after he lost, he started telling his supporters to come to Washington on Jan. 6. He set up the entire insurrection. It was his baby. If Donald Trump is mentally ill, it isn't the type of mental illness that causes a complete break from reality. He is certainly sane enough to be responsible for what he does.

(11,364 posts)of crazy. I think there was an (entirely predictable, and predicted) tantrum that follows the thwarting of narcissistic will. Further - people have always credited Trump with a level of intelligence, 'clever', that I just don't think he possesses. He's always had enough money to hire intelligence - but the man himself is a hack and a bungler.

(3,361 posts)I was stunned at the crap he and his administration tried to pull after the election. Almost as stunned at how divorced from reality he was, but four years of him kinda numbed me to that aspect.
I'm looking forward to watching the inevitable movies made about his time as President.
