The President WE elected, Hillary Clinton, and what should have been:

"My fellow Americans, today you've sent a message to the whole world," Clinton says. "Our values endure, our democracy stands strong and our motto remains 'E pluribus unum.' Out of many, one. We will not be defined only by our differences. We will not be an us vs. them country. The American dream is big enough for everyone." ...

Forward to 2022, and then 2024. If we don't stand as one and commit to win those, the days when people can come here to share our concerns and differences without fear, perhaps at all, will be over.

dangerous and destructive term. Isn't it even worse? 3 years into this enormous, unfolding tragedy and beginning another, with an appalling chance of the same people getting him reelected?

How much worse would it have to be for those who would boo her to regret what should have been? For the dreadful consequences of 2016 to have changed them?

Perhaps the question should be for them to be able to understand what should have been? The same appalled wonder our Republican neighbors evoke.

“Fundamentally, this election challenged us to decide what it means to be an American in the 21st century. And by reaching for unity, decency and what President Lincoln called ‘the better angels of our nature’, we met that challenge.”

If only. Next time?

Now this feels like it was eons ago. When I first read the words "President Donald Trump" I felt like I was in another universe.

The fear of Trump was THAT strong.
It was real.
I thought if I secure a home outside the US, I can bring my family & grandkids there asap.

The Fight was over & Flight was in high gear that morning.

I was hopeful that Trump wasn't really serious about the stuff he said on the campaign. But he was.

It was worse than my biggest nightmare.

And THAT loss of the electorate vote in the end was designed by those same forces who gave us Bush as well.
Only this time they were out in numbers, with Media solidly behind them, intending to burn it all down. Just as they declared early on.

We sat & watched it all.
It was clear who the multi-pronged artillery was coming from.

And here we are. Hanging on to the hope & promise of Democrat Joe Biden to patch together what was once a functioning nation.

The 'reasons' they all gave for their presence, was the tell.
None were there on the side of Democracy.

Except Hillary Clinton.
But we always knew that.

People were free to abuse their freedoms."

From Hillary Clinton's and Louise Penny's novel "State of Terror, commenting on how their fictional tRumpish character was elevated to the presidency by foreign states, profiteers, and citizens who abuse their freedoms.
