(43,256 posts)I mean, I've had diagnoses that I consider marginal, and there was an incorrect one or two in the family that were lousy medicine. That doesn't mean I reject science or doctors or medicine. I might be skeptical, or ask a few more deep questions than other patients, or I might research myself in an attempt to validate medical options, but I'm not crazy, especially for simple things like vaccination. That's simpler than get a good night's sleep and brush your teeth twice a day.

(14,061 posts)For Chrissakes, most of us get flu shots every year with no complaint. COVID, if we ever manage to control it, will be the same way
a booster to protect whatever variant is going around that season.
This is just a perfect storm of shit: Years of vaccine distrust spread by the likes of Jenny McCarthy and RFK Jr.; people living in their own echo chambers and believing everything they hear; and the politicization of every damn thing in this country.

(15,465 posts)Some had really bad reactions both times and hoped that this was it for life. Do "most" really get a flu shot? I'm not doubting you, but I'm surprised.

(32,884 posts)I have gotten a flu shot every year for the past 16 years. In fact, I received my flu shot and Pfizer booster on the same day. This hesitancy is complete bullshit.

I was in fact glad I got sick for three days.
It was proof my immune system was kicking in.
I just don't understand the thought process of vax refusers.
