Woman out of her mind on dope drives through golf course

And yes, I did notice she wasn't shot dead because she's white and blonde.
(Seriously, we are using that meme too often.)

Caught on camera: Woman leads police on wild golf course chase

A Florida golf course was the unusual scene of a high-speed police chase.

Dash camera footage shows the moments when a female suspect drove an SUV over fairways and across greens at Green Harbor golf course in Vero Beach, trying to evade sheriff's deputies.

The chase also sent golfers jumping out of the way of the vehicle.

"She was driving directly at golfers. She was driving at folks in golf carts," Sheriff Eric Flowers told CNN.

Law enforcement officials said the chase began at 1 p.m. outside the golf course with a report of a disturbance before the 60-year-old woman took off in the Toyota.

"She was blowing through traffic signals, through red lights, she was going through stop signs," Flowers said.

Eventually, she crashed through the golf course gate and the chase began. Footage shows several people jumping out of the way, including one golfer who said the SUV missed him by 3 feet.

A deputy's unmarked pickup truck nudged the SUV and sent it spinning before other deputies were able to box it in.

An arrest affidavit says, once the suspect jumped out of the vehicle, she stated several times that she was "high on blow," or cocaine.

1. Well, ya don't see that everyday. Reasonable restraint by officers, not par for the course.

You’d think the prisons wouldn’t have a single African American inside because they’d all been killed by the police prior to their incarceration.

When folks say “they’d have been killed if they were black!” it just comes across as mindless hyperbole that does absolutely nothing to advance the cause and combat real brutality. In fact, it trivializes the real cases of police brutality that occur every single day.

6. It Isn't Mindless Hyperbole

the truth of it is far too evident. And as for prisons that is a story in and of itself as to who get arrested for what and spends a lifetime in jail and who doesn't, like white boy rapists who are released on probation. I am glad people are saying this because it's a long needed recognition and until the situation is changed/corrected I won't mind them pointing out what has gone on forever in this country.

Do you need a list of the unarmed Black Americans killed by cops lately? It's not mindless hyperbole. It's what has happened.

It isn’t mindless hyperbole to acknowledge and lament the fact that unarmed Black Americans are murdered by police at an alarming rate.

That isn’t what was said, though.

It IS mindless hyperbole to say, every time a white person is arrested for some random crime, that they would have been murdered by police if only they’d been Black.

Such comments are disingenuous, obviously false, and they absolutely meet the definition of mindless hyperbole.

We can do better.

But really, do you actually think what happened on that golf course would've ended so harmlessly like it did if the driver wasn't a white woman?

I can think of a very recent event that involved a Black man, a vehicle, and a parade — he was arrested without incident.

Black folks are murdered by police at an alarming rate. But those encounters make up a tiny portion of interactions with police and the vast majority of arrests occur without incident.

You could say that, statistically, a Black person being arrested for that offense would have had a higher (albeit still very small) chance of being brutalized but the police.

But that isn’t what folks are saying. They’re saying that if that offender had been Black, they would have been killed by police. It’s just ridiculous hyperbole and it occurs multiple times in every thread where a white offender is arrested and not killed by the police.

It’s just mindless hyperbole.

Focus on real outrage when real Black people are murdered by the police. Lord knows it happens often enough that we don’t need to make shit up to be angry about.
