I ate Frosted Flakes and CoCo Puffs as a kid - the last time I tried a cereal like these as an adult it was as sugary as candy. Way too sweet!

(2,097 posts)Only product on that list I ever buy are Extra Toasty Cheezits (and not often, 1x a month at the most). Looks like I'll have to abandon that guilty pleasure, but well worth it.

(27,434 posts)Back in the 80s, my Local had workers from Hormel come to our monthly meeting. What I heard about what was going on and the treatment of the Employees had me so pissed off that ever since then.. to this day, no Hormel products in my home. Kellogg's will be next if they continue this action. Its my way of showing solidarity even tho Im retired Union

(27,678 posts)the only way this is hurting me is having to find a replacement for Morningstar Farms meatless breakfast sausages. As to everything else, I dont eat a lot of cereal, and there are other equivalent brands out there.

(22,425 posts)The question is why won't Kellogg recognize that their workers helped Kellogg through the pandemic by working incredible hours and pay them decent wages when Kellogg realized such profits? Keep in mind that just because a person or a company can do something doesn't mean it should do that something.

(22,425 posts)The tweet that started this thread said that Kellogg made record profits and wanted to CUT workers' pay and benefits. So not only were they making record profits, they wanted to increase them on the back of the workers.

(19,225 posts)Steel cut oats, topped with nuts and seeds, including perhaps some walnuts, chia, and hemp? (especially the hemp, will add protein)
Toss in a few raisins (few!), or some chopped apples, if you can handle the sugar.
Beats anything out of a box, by miles.
Bob's Red Mill has organic quick-cooking steel cut oats. Fix up the bowl the night before (oats plus whatever plus water), put in the fridge, in the morning pop in the microwave at half power for 7-10 minutes, you're good to go.
I like the Kashi cinnamon cheerio knock-off as an occasional alternative, but I've found my oatmeal recipe really works better in my diet as a standard.

(34,972 posts)No more Morningstar Farms for me--which I've only been eating because Quorn stopped making their version of them. As for the rest of it, not a problem, since I don't eat that stuff anyway.

(3,921 posts)We're in the middle of a pandemic where alot of these companies made record profits while regular people wound up on bread lines, ie a K shaped recovery. It is the workers who risked getting covid, who worked long hours, who kept this economy running - and it is the workers who deserve to be paid and treated properly, full stop.

Hope they enjoy their eventual bankruptcy.
