Not an attorney---don't play one on TV, but from recent observations of former Trump advisor Navarro, this should work.
If you ever receive a subpoena or summons or any of those other "legal thingies" that you, for whatever reason, just don't want to obey, just tell 'em that some ordinary citizen with no special power or authority has given you a "direct order" not to comply.
Navarro says he will not honor a House subpoena because Trump gave him such an order.
If it's "good for the goose------"

Let's see if that's true. Is Congress going to use its statutory contempt power, or let another of TFG's lackies thumb their nose at the Select Committee? Time will tell.
