(3,577 posts)I got the booster of Pfizer and had no side effects at all.

(10,384 posts)Definitely glad to be getting it out of the way, finally...

(69,459 posts)No harsh response at all to the booster. Her arm hurt for a few hours, the next day.
I got the Moderna booster. Felt flushed & sore in the upper back for a few hours.

(25,166 posts)But still worth it. 3 days of crap that simply stopped.

(10,109 posts)sore arm I had the first two times. Went away in 24 hours.

(13,705 posts)(Moderna) And I felt pretty crappy after second dose.
Good luck. You're doing what is best for your health. Drink a ton of water, and when you think you drank too much, drink more. And sleep!

(10,384 posts)Woke up thought I was doing well but it was a little cold so I look at the thermostat to see that it was close to 90 in the house. Soon following was a cocaphany of aches and nausea and sleep for the remainder of the day lol. I will report back tomorrow to let you guys know how it went
Dorian Gray
(13,705 posts)it's better for you. Good luck!

(10,384 posts)Layed in bed and finished the haunting of hill house. Not a bad show...
Sorry! But at least you got a good show in. (I'm taking recommendations bc I think we're going to have some long days at home coming up!)
Best of health to you during the holidays.

(46,247 posts)But the effects lasted for two days only. Except the "Moderna" arm, that lasted for about a week.
Dorian Gray
(13,705 posts)I had that with dose 2 of moderna, but booster I was good to go.
But that's true with all my friends too. Reactions were all over the place.

(21,786 posts)feeling like someone punched you really hard in the upper arm with brass knuckles, and having mild chills/fever. Definitely preferable to ending up on a ventilator, ECMO, or dead (which is the worst-case for covid).

(70,842 posts)I had Moderna for the vaccine... and hubs who had not gotten his booster yet came down with Covid and I did not get it despite being in the same house. By the time we knew he had it, I was exposed so I didn't wear a mask or sleep in a different room.

(34,929 posts)No clue what to expect from Omicron but a spike in cases.
I'm boosted, but I fully expect to get Omicron or some variant at some point, regardless. The struggle against ignorance feels futile the further we're into the Pandemic and closer we are to Covid becoming Endemic.
Wearing a mask all day at work in a fully-vaccinated, sparsely-populated office when flibberdigibbets all over America have thrown Covid discipline in the trash months ago is a tad wearying.

(7,638 posts)So how does thus quantify into a percentage of protection? Sometimes I think numbers get thrown around with very little context or meaning. Whoohoo it's 100 x better..

(35,306 posts)... that I haven't gotten my booster shot yet. But I will do it, and very soon. Perhaps during xmas holidays if the lines are down and it becomes easier to get an early appointment.
Thanks for the gentle nudge in the right direction!

(8,316 posts)I'm damn near a hermit nowadays and almost assuredly an even bigger procrastinator than you -- I literally had scheduled my booster a few times over the past couple of weeks, then woke up and decided I just didn't even want to leave the house, so I kept canceling and rescheduling -- and even I got my lazy ass out of the house finally to get my booster earlier this week. It was a big sigh of relief, knowing that, once again, I've done just about all I can do to protect myself and others against COVID. It's very easy to get appointments at most locations now, so, just go ahead and get it done!

(10,534 posts)They told me that I would be good with a half dose of Moderna, even if I didn't get it for my first vaccination. I hope that still holds true with regards to immunity from Omicron.
