Police: Delivery Driver Runs Over Groceries Of Elderly Couple Who Had Pro-Police Sign In Their Yard

https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2021/12/14/instacart-driver-runs-over-groceries-blaine-pro-police-sign/

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — An Instacart delivery driver allegedly ran over an elderly couple’s groceries due to a pro-police sign in their yard, according to police.

Blaine police say they responded on Dec. 6 to a call from the couple who reported that they had placed a grocery order from a local Cub Foods and requested delivery via the Instacart delivery service.

The couple said once they received notification that the driver was outside the house, they decided to meet the driver there due to the amount of snow in their driveway.

According to the police, when the couple opened the front door, the driver yelled back at them to check the inside of their Christmas wreath hanging from the door.

The couple said they watched as the delivery person drove back and forth in the driveway. After the delivery driver left, the couple said they found that their groceries had been run over. The couple also found the receipt from the grocery order with a message saying “Instacart doesn’t pay employees, sry find another slave. F— the racist police pigs.”

Straight to "5 years for that lady to think about what she's done" type rhetoric.
I mean, it says "groceries" in the title, in the link, in the body of the story, AND in the video.

It may be that the alleged victim's version of events happened just the way police described it.
It's also possible it happened differently.

That same 'lawman' mentioned Jessie Mollett as a comparison when someone questioned the story, but a better analogy would be any of the MANY faked attacks on police or private property where the 'victims' faked a note on a coffee cup, painted anti-trump or anti-cop slogans on a car or wall...

And they keep saying the groceries were run over several times by the delivery driver, but the photo has tire tracks beneath the groceries, and no groceries appear to be run over even once. More like they were torn apart and tossed on top.

AND this "old couple" have gotten at least $3400 so far. I wonder if they're hoping it goes viral?

I have to work with people with whose views I am diametrically opposed. Sometimes I leave a meeting or get off a call and have to debrief. The profession in which I chose to be, makes it likely that I will have to work with, to serve, people whose ideas I cannot stomach.

That person who ran over the couple's groceries, does no one any good doing something stupid like that.

Not to say it didn't happen this way, but I would like to see a handwriting comparison and more information.

The message is so over the top that it feels like on of the Manson Family messages written on the wall. This may be real, but it has all the marks of a right winger wanting to start some hate. We have seen this sort of thing before. Considering that this is about eight miles from where George Floyd was murdered, I will hold my opinion till there is evidence.

For one thing, the groceries don't look run over. They're sitting on top of the tire marks and look torn apart rather than crushed. Hower, I didn't believe it even before I saw that picture. The whole thing reeks.

The pics on the site show them stamped pretty clearly in the snow. Pretty simple to know if the old couple did that.

Definitely one of the weirder instacart experiences I've heard. Yesterday, a classmate of mine had Door Dash delivered to him in class. I thought that was pretty hilarious.

I had an order that never arrived despite the shopper's insistence that he had left it at the door. They had another shopper buy everything again without charge and deliver it within two hours.

Turned out they had delivered it to a house a block away and across the street. Nextdoor is occasionally useful.

I always question the wisdom of folks who order food delivery while displaying partisan political signs outside. Figure that about half the people delivering the food will have different beliefs. Seems like folks who do that most really enjoy the taste of spit (or worse).
