Hard to think of another reason but surrender for it, unless the proceeding on the resolution is needed be sure a few votes are secure for the citation.

It's a problem with narrow majorities that just about any clique of fools can set themselves up as vest-pocket kingmakers....

...the impending vote on a contempt citation for the former Presidential Chief of Staff regarding a nationally significant insurrection was abruptly postponed. And I'd like to know why.

Once the Islamophobia is dealt with, then she probably will have the votes. That is also an important issue that was inexplicably placed on the back burner. It's time.

Instead of holding a bunch of 15 minute votes, they are stacking the votes, at about 9:30ish there will be a series of votes, one 15 and a few 5 minute votes. It will knock an 1.5 hours off the day, get them to the debt limit bill and get out of DC tomorrow.
