I’ve been there myself. I’ve since learned that while he may be blowing up the Democratic President’s agenda, we are very very lucky to have him!

... maybe half of those are strengths I'd consider listing. I like having a Dem representing WV. I do like many of his votes - especially the one to Impeach! Until we get more progressives in Congress, we need him. I think we can get some version of BBB done... keep talking to him and get it done. Then, we can move on to Voting Rights!

I like Joe too. I voted for him. I would like for him to be more progressive but I feel we are lucky to have a Dem in that spot.
I’m sure he learned a lot from Sen. Byrd and deep down agrees with most things the Dems are doing but has to “toe the line” in order to keep these crazy right-wingers from crucifying him in ads.
I call his office often to beg him to support the BBB plan and the reconciliation package. It’s frustrating that it is all I can do😞
You see, we are nearing retirement and really really need to have dental, hearing, and optical included in Medicare.
And I am a universal pre k teacher in our public schools and see how families also need the support that is in that package.

I do think that Joe cares about us but he is trying to survive in the brainwashed WV political climate. It is so sad because WV had such a strong labor movement history and look what it has become.

I will keep calling him as I do Capito’s office, to let them know there are constituents out here who are really wanting them to vote for the peoples’ interests instead of corporate interests. Show me you care about me, Joe, I’m counting on you!

I also wonder if he was so viscerally responsive to the idea he doesn't want to extend the child tax credit, how reliable the sources are on that info.

In less than a year VP Harris has broke more 50-50 ties than any VP since the 19th century. Without Manchin McConnell would be majority leader and Biden wouldn’t be setting records with respect to judicial nominations and confirmations. Do I wish Manchin would get with the program on BBB, Voting rights and the filibuster? Of course. But he remains essential for the time being.

He's not perfect. But we've filled a number of federal judge openings. If Clarence Thomas drops dead at Christmas, we'll get to fill his spot.

The infrastructure bill passed.

Could it be better. Sure. I could have also been born with a trust fund. But instead I have to work. We can't always get what we want. But if we try, sometimes we might just find, we get what we need.
