Thanks for the info, Republicans

.We Democrats are truly appreciative of the information contained in your recently-revealed texts with respect to how a vice president has the authority to simply throw out the electoral votes of states that vote against his/her preferred candidate.

No doubt our current VP, Kamala Harris, was overjoyed to hear this news!

Should things not go well for the Dems in the 2024 election, it's good to know that many of you are on-board with VP Harris simply tossing those pesky anti-Biden votes in the trash, and only counting the votes that were cast for him.

It's like hey, who knew this was possible - and that so many of you would go to the trouble of explaining how the illegality of such an action was actually legal!

Many thanks to those GOPers who have acknowledged the power (albeit unConstitutional) of a sitting vice president to overturn the will of the people a matter of his/her discretion.

We now have the evidence that you urged the late-and-not-great Trump administration to adopt this "interpretation" of prevailing law - so exactly what will your legal arguments be should a Democratic VPOTUS decide that you were right all along - and act accordingly?

Cat got your tongue? Or is your tongue so far up Trump's ass you have lost all ability to speak?

We have to claim that thermostats flipped votes or Italian lasers or some poll worker brought in a suitcase of 50,000 votes first.

Come to think of it, no problemo, thanks GQP{ers.

to authors Eastman, Perry, Ellis, and McEntee for your "how to overturn an election" instruction memos (PowerPoint)...it's obvious spelling(agressive?), grammar, and cognitive thought are not your strong suits but your collective road maps to anointing Joe Biden or Kamala Harris President For Life is invaluable..

I have been voting by mail but I can vote in person in 2024. Luckily I live in a swing state, Pa. I plan on using the thermostat flipping votes reason not to certify. I will ask a poll worker if he/she can turn up the thermostat because I am cold. If he/she gives me a suspicious answer like, no, or I don't know where the thermostat is, I have them nailed. I am pretty sure I can snap a picture of the thermostat for proof.

ps/ we can't communicate like this over DU when it gets close to election time. I know a friend who works at Verizon who can get us a deal on burner phones. I am a computer Troglodyte so someone else will have to explain the encryption.

More good news, Garland will probably still be AG so we have that going for us. Sorry for that last one.

Who'd ever seriously think the vice president had the authority to unilaterally determine the winner of the presidential electoral contest? Uh........Current congressional republicans, you say?

Well at least they didn't act on their incorrect assumption. That would be felonious treason against the constitution as well as the republic. Oh........they did? Actual plotting? You mean like a cabal or a coup?

Well surely when their crimes come to light, the citizenry will cry for the truth to emerge and justice to prevail. Whu.......? There is a substantial, though still a minority, of the electorate stupid enough to still support the traitors? I see......Well, just f--k them.

there are way too many loopholes in the Electoral College language. Not all of the states have the same language, if I'm not mistaken.

No way in hell we have the votes to abolish the Electoral College but I recall Democrats were trying to pass language to close loopholes.

I think this should be hammered home to them publicly. Put them on the spot to either condemn or condone such a maneuver.

For the 1/6 commission too. If you republicans were acting as patriots, stop denying involvement and tell us how you served God and Country by inciting people to disrupt what they see as an illegal vote tally. C'mon republicans! Stand and be proud of your patriotism!

. . . it's every successive Democratic VP.

VP Harris throws out the GOP votes and installs a Democratic POTUS and VP. Then, four years later, the Democratic VP repeats the process . . . and four years later . . . and four years later . . . PERMANENT Democratic POTUS and VP.

I’m willing to encourage VP Harris to get out ahead of this thing and preempt the vote counting from all the states in which Republicans have given legislatures the power to circumvent elections and choose their own slate of electors. Do it now and spare us the nail biting and the sleepless nights of November 2024. Announce that empowering state legislatures to disregard the will of the voters is fraudulent on its face, so she herself will determine the outcome of the race in that state. Sleeve, so maybe Republicans will approve.

allowing the Assembly to choose a slate of electors. When Newsom announced the gun law mirroring Texas’s abortion law, I was thrilled he was thinking like me. And, yes, VP Harris, take the lead. /s

Honestly, if it weren’t that we are the serious law and policy makers, we should push this sheerly because if the Supreme Court had to rule on the idea with Democrats, they’d bury the possibility forever. The Republicans are shameless, but it would be hard to trot out the idea after the SC had made a ruling.
