Wyoming, a reliably red state, gets one US Senator for each 295,007 of its citizens.
California, a reliably blue state, gets one US Senator for each 19,370,000 of its citizens.
Similar, but less extreme inequities exist with many other states.
This has made "one man, one vote" and "majority rule" jarring phrases to me for decades.
Apples ain't bananas, folks, no matter how many times you misname them.

(4,858 posts)...our system has become every bit as corrupt as it was. It took a near-revolution to change things there. Maybe something similar will be necessary someday here...

If 280,000 Democratic high tech workers moved from California to Wyoming... we would own the Senate. California would not miss us at all.
I am looking into this... Also, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, and possibly even Utah could be flipped Blue by reallocating where people live in the new virtual work environment.
I love Arizona... I just hate the people that live there.
