... some very (not) fine traitors - on both sides.
(I think my meaning is clear - and if someone wants to alert on this, I'm happy to take the hit.)

(31,895 posts)on posts that are only natural when someone feels like they have been stabbed in the back.
The President was stabbed in the back... that much is clear.
We all need to vent a little bit.

(27,835 posts)... way more than a little bit - and my anger won't pass in a few days.
And it isn't just the President who got stabbed in the back here.

(31,895 posts)as always, you may rant away. At least reading your post will both entertain and enlighten the reader.

(54,348 posts)We SO SO need them to have any hope of pulling off a miracle and holding the House.
And the true ruthlessness of Manchin's skulduggery is that many of them now left twisting in the wind in a target zone were part of Manchin's ( and No Labels coordinated) get togethers with Manchin, Sinema, and the Gottheimer crew, etc. when he was trying to get them to buy into his corporate sponsored, billionaire-friendly agenda in regards to both BIF and BBB.
No wonder Abigail Spanberger went off on old Coal Joe. She likely so gone now, barring Manchin caving on BBB AND the voter bills.
I gained a lot of respect for her, standing up to Manchin.
A prog could never win her district, so I totally accept her not being in alignment to a 95% level with my preferences. Only issue I had is that she went public taking potshots at elected House progs who did not attack her first.
But that is all water under the dam for me. We need our big tent to keep power.
Manchin has shown the true limits of the tent. Hopefully the rest of our caucus in both chambers uses this all to unite and fight.

(41 posts)President Biden is such a good man and I think will be one of our greatest presidents, so this turn of events really hit me...to do that to him and to Americans is really cruel, IMHO. The last time I was this upset is when the Supreme Court ruled for Bush in Bush v. Gore. I was in shock, feeling like this is not the United States of America that I grew up in, and that I studied about in school.

(11,885 posts)He's exposed himself again for what he is, a fraud, and not only are the American people outraged by his antics and is position now, the people in his state are seeing who he really is representing, and its not them. Backfiring on him so badly now I expect him to soon come up with more excuses to vote for its passage. He does that a lot.

(18,731 posts)I served on the DU jury and had someone's negative comment about
Munchkin deleted. I don't like the guy but we have to maintain
some order here.

(8,838 posts)his contempt for the President and his constituents who are desperate for this bill to pass..what I found most telling was his reaction to the wave of condemnation from all of his Senate colleagues..instead of proudly "owning" his betrayal, he pointed a finger at the President's aides, blaming them for his about-face...and as per usual he then issued his benign threat to leave the party, this time faulting the progressives for pushing him into the waiting arms of THE DARK SIDE ...and then immediately backtracked when there were no voices begging him to stay...he messed up big time and he knows it (FOX News, really??)...he soured his relationship with the White House, his fellow senators have run out of fucks to give, and Schumer wants him on record screwing West Virginia...attaboy big guy, you showed 'em!!!

(2,403 posts)Are his constituents desperate for it to pass? It sure doesnt seem like it. They keep electing him. They arent putting much pressure on him. Even after this there was just a handful of people that showed up to protest him. He IS however fucking over the rest of the country. But by and large the people of WV seem to appreciate him.

(8,838 posts)that's the irony of their support...West Virginia is one of poorest states...they desperately need the BBB and yet Senator Maserati Riverboat Captain speaks for them...
CrackityJones75
(2,403 posts)Yep I know they need it. But by and large I think WVians only want it if the people they dont want to get it dont get it.

(34,285 posts)100% of the repub party OPPOSES...
But you dont hear that, ever.
And I feel the same way about the person you are referring to.
98% equals almost all of the House and all but 2 in the Senate, but in the Senate it is exactly 98%.
And as to getting things made invisible, mine are usually when I predict how BAD the cons will be, or lately it was saying Putin was behind the suicide bomber in Afghanistan. sigh
