CNN reporter catches Fox News blatantly lying about Biden's COVID-19 speech

During his speech on his administration's plan for handling the coming winter surge in COVID-19 cases, President Joe Biden gave credit to former President Donald Trump's administration for its initiative in developing COVID-19 vaccines.

Additionally, Biden specifically gave Trump credit for talking publicly about his decision to get a booster against the virus.

"Just the other day, former President Trump announced he got his booster shot," he said. "It may be one of the few things he and I agree on. People with booster shots are highly protected.”


Despite this, as CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy notes on Twitter, Fox News falsely told its viewers hours later that Trump got no credit from Biden or Democrats for his administration's work on the vaccines.

A Fox News chyron that appeared mere hours after Biden's address falsely stated, "Dems refuse to credit Trump for vaccine effort."

Moderna's mRNA research got off the ground because of a grant from the Obama White House in 2011 or 2012. The grant was renewed in 2016 when the research showed so much promise. (I believe Team Trump canceled the grant in 2017/2018, but I can't find the link I had a few months back anymore. But, if true, it's another example of Trump delaying the vaccine.)

And, of course, Dolly made a big donation of her own money to help Moderna as well.

What they are going on about is that we Democrats will not say that Trump personally went to a lab he built in his penthouse and created the vaccine and all its descendants one weekend while on a visit from the White House. That he touched a vial of water and it turned into the vaccine. That has been, to me, the biggest drawback of cable news and a 24/7 news cycle. You get a heavy dose of opinion (and bullshit, if it’s Fox) mixed in with fact and most people can’t discern the difference. People cannot think critically, cannot do their own research, and want to be told what to say and believe. Another consequence of the abysmal decline of education in this society.

..that's undue, since he really didn't do anything but propagandize his "Warp Speed" plan. One or more drug companies were working on a vaccine before he ever accepted the existence of a pandemic.

The reality was (as we know), he didn't even want to think about Covid, let alone talk about it, knowing it was going to screw up his re-election plans. All the bullshit comments he made; "If we didn't tests, we wouldn't have any cases", "It'll just go away one day", "I didn't want people to panic", then pushing Hydroxychloroquine as a cure, undermining Fauci, undermining the CDC, undermining his own 'task force'. He was outright antagonistic in helping local governments procure PPE and ventilators: "We are not a shipping clerk."

Hillary (any semi-competent President), would have led the charge to do what needed doing...same as Biden has been leading the charge since taking office.

Trump gets credit for a lot of unnecessary deaths and suffering from Covid and that's the reality...
