Trump is suing the January 6th committee?
Sometimes I just can't believe how ridiculous things are in this once great land.

(32,039 posts)it's their strategy, to delay. Without direct DOJ involvement the GQPers hope to run out the clock in the courts and then drop the investigations.
If DOJ were doing the investigations, they would continue.
Merrick Garland needs to appoint a special counsel, just like Barr appointed John Durham who is still getting paid to dig up dirt on the Bidens.

(2,403 posts)Do you see us ever returning from this constant ugliness and strife? I do not. Does it get us anywhere good? I dont believe so. While we cant say for sure, I really dont think this country is headed in a good direction at all.

(3,885 posts)How can elections ever be the same? Whichever side loses will just declare fraud. The peaceful transfer of power that gave our country a very unique form of democracy will no longer exist. The biggest mob will only have to make sure the election they lost is never certified.

(2,403 posts)Once fascism truly takes root and people are really living under it. When they feel the grind if the boot on their necks, then they will get it. And I think somewhere in their minds they know this. Our country has been told stories of the glory of rebellion for so long, and have been brainwashed into how heroic it was to fight for our freedom that is has become a self fulfilling prophecy to inject the same terms we went through in order to provide a means to experience that glory and to engage in that fight themselves. It is a dangerous fantasy that they are engaged in.

(3,885 posts)It distracts them from the fascism that is the real threat. Sadly, it will be too late when they realize they have been helping the fascists take their freedom all along.

(2,403 posts)They are so desperate to be the heroes that they will take literally anything as an act if aggression on the part of the government.
We let our act of freeing ourselves as a country be told as a wonderful thing worthy of hero worship rather than telling it as a story of necessary loss of life and horrors of war that we should never look to re-engage unless absolutely necessary.
Now we have people looking fir excuses to kill fellow Americans and to distrust the government for trying to keep them alive. It is an absolute mind fuck.

(3,885 posts)In order to grab their glory they will literally make up enemies and seek out fights. I think this pursuit of glory was a driving factor in why Rittenhouse crossed state lines. He didn't need to be there. He wanted to be there. He pursued a path he thought was noble and glorified.

(2,403 posts)We have to return to a place where war is not glorified. It is a last resort. Not a way to attain acceptance and righteousness.

But he filed suit against Letitia James to get her to stop her investigation. He's saying her investigation is only political and amounts to harassment.

(16,254 posts)I'd love to know how many suits he's filed and lost, at this point in time. I was going to post a number I believed to be true, but that surely can't be right. I think the "filed" and "lost" numbers will be the same, correct?
